2. Safety Information
Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent damage to the power supply or injury to yourself:
- Input Voltage: Ensure the input voltage is AC 115V ±10% 60Hz. Verify product specifications on the body/package before powering on.
- Load Connection: Always turn on the DC power supply first, set the desired voltage/current, and then connect the load.
- High Current Output: For output currents above 5A, use the high current connector on the back of the unit. The front panel is only suitable for output currents up to 5A. Do not connect both front and rear terminals simultaneously.
- Power Off: Turn off the DC power supply and remove the power cord when not in use.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power cord before cleaning. Do not use solvents containing hydrocarbons, chlorides, or abrasive detergents.
- Voltage Decay: The output voltage will gradually decrease after powering off as capacitors discharge.
3. Setup
3.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the power supply from its packaging. Inspect for any physical damage. The package includes: DC power supply *1, American standard power cord *1, English manual, low-power output cable *1, high-power output cable *1.
3.2 Power Connection
- Connect the American standard power cord to the AC input on the rear panel of the power supply.
- Plug the power cord into a compatible AC 115V ±10% 60Hz power outlet.
3.3 Load Connection
Choose the appropriate output terminals based on your current requirements:
- Front Panel Terminals: Suitable for output currents up to 5A.
- Rear Panel High Current Terminals: For output currents above 5A, connect your load to these terminals. Unscrew the knobs, insert the high-power output cable, and tighten to secure.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
Press the 'POWER' switch on the front panel to turn the unit on or off.
4.2 Setting Voltage and Current
The R-SPS3020 uses high-precision encoder knobs for setting output values:
- Press the 'VOLTAGE' or 'CURRENT' knob to select the digit you wish to adjust on the LED display.
- Rotate the knob to set the desired value for that digit (0-9).
- Repeat for all digits until the desired voltage and current are set.

4.4 Constant Voltage (CV) / Constant Current (CC) Modes
The power supply automatically switches between Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC) modes depending on the load. The display will indicate which mode is active.
4.5 Battery Charging Function
This power supply can be used for charging various battery types (e.g., Lithium, Lead-Acid, Ni-MH). Always set the current and voltage correctly before charging to avoid overcharging or damage.
Video 1: Demonstration of charging a lead-acid battery using a DC power supply. It shows how to set voltage and current, and the importance of disconnecting when current approaches zero to prevent overcharging.

4.7 Load Testing (Demonstration)
The power supply maintains stable output under varying loads. A demonstration of load testing on a similar NICE-POWER unit is provided below.
Video 3: Demonstration of a NICE-POWER DC Power Supply under load, showing its ability to maintain stable voltage and current output. Note: This video features a 60V 20A 1200W model, but the principles of load stability apply.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
To clean the power supply, ensure the power cord is removed. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents containing hydrocarbons, chlorides, or similar, and do not use detergents containing abrasive ingredients.
5.2 Cooling System
The intelligent cooling fan will automatically turn on when the operating temperature of the DC power supply exceeds 122°F/50°C. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to allow for effective heat dissipation and extend the device's life.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your NICE-POWER R-SPS3020, consider the following:
- No Output/Low Current on Front Panel: Remember that the front panel is limited to 5A. For higher currents, ensure you are using the high current terminals on the rear panel.
- Voltage/Current Not Stable: Verify that the load is properly connected and within the power supply's specifications. Check for loose connections.
- Unit Not Powering On: Check the power cord connection and the AC input. Ensure the input voltage matches the specified AC 115V ±10% 60Hz.
- Overheating: Ensure the cooling fan is not obstructed and the unit has sufficient airflow. The intelligent fan should activate when needed.
- Battery Overcharging: When charging batteries, monitor the current. Disconnect the battery when the charging current approaches zero to prevent overcharging.
