Operating Instructions
Basic Recording
Once powered on, the Yada RoadCam™ will automatically begin recording in a continuous loop. The 3-inch LCD screen will display the live view and recording status.
Loop Recording
The dash cam utilizes loop recording, which means when the MicroSD card is full, the oldest unlocked video files will be overwritten by new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention.
G-Sensor Technology
The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid acceleration/deceleration. When such an event occurs, the current video segment is automatically locked and protected from being overwritten, preserving critical footage of incidents.
Park and Record Mode
When enabled, the park and record mode allows the dash cam to automatically start recording if it detects motion or impact while your vehicle is parked. This feature requires a continuous power supply to the dash cam (e.g., via a hardwire kit, sold separately).
Wi-Fi and Yada Drive App Connectivity
The dash cam features built-in Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity with the Yada Drive app on your smartphone. Download the Yada Drive app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect to your dash cam's Wi-Fi network. The app allows you to view live footage, playback recorded videos, download files to your phone, and adjust camera settings.
GPS Functionality
The integrated GPS module records your vehicle's speed and location data along with the video footage. This information can be viewed during playback using compatible software or the Yada Drive app, providing valuable context for recorded events.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Dash Cam
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the dash cam.
- For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth to avoid scratches. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
MicroSD Card Management
- It is recommended to format the MicroSD card periodically (e.g., once a month) using the dash cam's menu settings. This helps maintain optimal recording performance and prevents data corruption.
- Always power off the dash cam before inserting or removing the MicroSD card to prevent data loss or card damage.
Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the dash cam in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
Dash Cam Not Powering On
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the dash cam and the vehicle's 12V/24V outlet.
- Check if the vehicle's 12V/24V outlet is functioning (e.g., by plugging in another device).
- Verify that the vehicle's ignition is on, as some outlets are only active with the ignition.
Recording Issues (e.g., freezing, corrupted files)
- Format the MicroSD card through the dash cam's settings menu.
- Ensure you are using a high-speed (Class 10 or U3 recommended) MicroSD card.
- Try a different MicroSD card to rule out card malfunction.
Wi-Fi Connection Problems
- Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the dash cam and your smartphone.
- Restart both the dash cam and your smartphone.
- Ensure you are within close proximity to the dash cam for a stable connection.
- Re-pair the device through the Yada Drive app.
GPS Not Functioning
- Ensure the dash cam has a clear view of the sky to acquire GPS signals. Avoid mounting locations that might block the signal.
- Allow a few minutes for the GPS to acquire a signal after powering on.
