1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

Please read all safety warnings and instructions before using this product. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

• Always wear eye protection and protective clothing when jump starting a battery.
• Do not operate the jump starter if it is damaged or has been dropped.
• Keep the jump starter away from moisture, water, and flammable materials.
• Do not allow the positive and negative clamps to touch each other or the same metal object.
• Ensure the vehicle is in park (P) or neutral (N) and the parking brake is engaged before attempting to jump start.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not attempt to jump start a frozen battery.
• If the battery acid comes into contact with skin or eyes, flush immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical attention.
• This device is designed for 12V vehicles only. Do not attempt to jump start 6V or 24V systems.

5. Setup: Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the MAXTOOLS JSL600 for at least 24 hours. Regular charging ensures optimal performance and battery longevity.

• Connect the provided QC3.0 charger cable to the USB-C input port on the jump starter.
• Plug the charger into a standard wall outlet.
• The battery level indicator lights will illuminate, showing the charging progress. All four lights will be solid when fully charged.
• Disconnect the charger once fully charged.

Note: For long-term storage, recharge the unit every three months to maintain battery health.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Jump Starting a Vehicle

1. Prepare the Vehicle: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the parking brake is engaged.
2. Connect Clamps:
   • Connect the red (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
   • Connect the black (-) clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle's battery or a solid, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's chassis away from the battery.
3. Connect to Jump Starter: Insert the jump cable connector into the jump starter's port. Ensure a secure connection.
4. Check Indicator Lights: The jump starter's indicator lights will show the connection status. If an error is detected (e.g., reverse polarity), an alarm may sound, and an error light will illuminate. Correct the connection if necessary.
5. Start the Vehicle: Once connected correctly, start the vehicle's engine. If the vehicle does not start immediately, wait 30 seconds before trying again. Do not crank for more than 3 seconds per attempt.
6. Using BOOST Function (for deeply discharged batteries): If the vehicle battery is completely dead and the jump starter does not detect it, press and hold the "BOOST" button for 3 seconds. The "BOOST" indicator will light up. Attempt to start the vehicle within 30 seconds.

7. Disconnect: Once the vehicle starts, immediately disconnect the jump cables from the jump starter, then disconnect the black (-) clamp from the vehicle, followed by the red (+) clamp.

6.2. Using as a Portable Power Bank

The JSL600 can charge various electronic devices via its USB outputs.

• Connect your device's USB charging cable to one of the USB output ports (5V-2.1A or QC3.0) on the jump starter.
• The jump starter will automatically begin charging your device.
• Disconnect your device once charging is complete.

6.3. Using the LED Lights

The JSL600 features an integrated LED work light and flashlight with multiple modes.

• Press the Power button once to turn on the LED work light.
• Press the Power button again to cycle through light modes: Fixed Light → Blinking Light → SOS → Off.
• The LED flashlight can be activated separately by a dedicated button (if present, refer to Image 4.1 for exact location).

• Recharging: Recharge the jump starter every three months, even if not used, to maintain battery health.
• Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasives.
• Storage: Store the jump starter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the clamps are clean and stored safely, not touching each other.
• Battery Disposal: Do not dispose of the battery in household waste. Follow local regulations for proper lithium battery recycling.
