Follow these steps to assemble your vacuum cleaner:

  1. Attach the Suction Hose: Insert the hose connector into the suction inlet on the main unit until it clicks securely into place.
  2. Connect the Telescopic Wand: Push the handle end of the hose onto the telescopic wand until it locks.
  3. Attach the Floorhead: Push the floorhead onto the other end of the telescopic wand until it locks.
  4. Adjust the Telescopic Wand: Press the release button on the wand and extend it to a comfortable working height.
  5. Power Connection: Unwind the power cord and insert the plug into a suitable mains socket.

5. Operating Instructions

To begin using your Miele vacuum cleaner:

  1. Switching On/Off: Press the foot switch on the main unit to turn the vacuum cleaner on or off.
  2. Adjusting Suction Power: The Miele Classic C1 Flex Powerline features 6 power levels. Use the rotary selector on the main unit to choose the appropriate suction power for different surfaces. Lower settings are suitable for delicate fabrics, while higher settings are for hard floors and heavily soiled carpets.
  3. Using Attachments: The floorhead is suitable for general cleaning. Additional attachments (if included) can be fitted directly onto the handle or the telescopic wand for specific tasks like cleaning upholstery or crevices.
  4. Maneuvering: Guide the floorhead smoothly over the surface to be cleaned. The castor wheels on the main unit allow for easy movement.
  5. Parking System: For short breaks, hook the floorhead onto the parking attachment at the rear of the vacuum cleaner.
  6. Cord Rewind: Press the foot switch for automatic cord rewind when finished cleaning.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your appliance.

6.1 Changing the Dustbag

The dustbag has a capacity of 4.5 liters. Change the dustbag when the dustbag change indicator on the main unit turns red, or when suction power noticeably decreases.

  1. Switch off the vacuum cleaner and unplug it from the mains.
  2. Open the dustbag compartment lid.
  3. Pull the dustbag collar upwards to seal the bag.
  4. Remove the full dustbag and dispose of it responsibly.
  5. Insert a new Miele original dustbag, ensuring it sits correctly in the holder.
  6. Close the dustbag compartment lid firmly until it clicks.

6.2 Cleaning/Replacing Filters

Your vacuum cleaner is equipped with a motor protection filter and an exhaust filter (HEPA and foam type).

6.3 Cleaning the Appliance

Wipe the exterior of the vacuum cleaner and attachments with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
