1. Introduction

2.1 Key Components

  • Handset: Standard telephone handset for private conversations.
  • 4.3-inch IPS Color Display: Backlit 480x272 pixel display for user interface, call information, and applications.
  • Line Appearance Keys: Six programmable keys for line registrations and paging.
  • Feature Keys: Six dedicated keys for common functions.
  • Context-Sensitive Soft Keys: Four keys below the display whose functions change based on the current screen.
  • Navigation Controller: 6-key controller for menu navigation.

3. Setup

3.1 Package Contents

Before proceeding, ensure all components are present:

  • Sangoma P325 IP Phone Unit
  • Handset and Handset Cord
  • Ethernet Cable
  • Power Adapter (12 Volt 1.6A DC)
  • Desk Stand (if applicable)

3.2 Physical Connection

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled handset cord into the handset and the other end into the handset port on the phone base.
  2. Connect to Network:
    • Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the phone.
    • Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a network switch or router.
    • (Optional) To connect a computer through the phone, use another Ethernet cable to connect the PC port on the phone to your computer's network port.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the power port on the back of the phone, then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The phone will automatically begin its boot-up sequence.

3.3 Initial Boot-Up and Configuration

Upon first power-up, the phone will connect to your network and attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP. If your network uses a Sangoma PBX, the phone should automatically provision itself. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup or login if required by your system administrator.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Call Functions

  • Making a Call:
    1. Pick up the handset, press the speaker button, or press a line appearance key.
    2. Dial the number using the numeric keypad.
    3. Press the "Dial" soft key or wait for automatic dialing.
  • Answering a Call:
    • Pick up the handset.
    • Press the flashing line appearance key.
    • Press the "Answer" soft key.
  • Ending a Call: Hang up the handset or press the "End Call" soft key.
  • Placing a Call on Hold: During an active call, press the "Hold" soft key. To resume, press the flashing line appearance key or the "Resume" soft key.
  • Transferring a Call: During an active call, press the "Transfer" soft key and follow the on-screen prompts for attended or blind transfer.

4.2 Using the Display and Navigation

The 4.3-inch color IPS display provides access to various phone features and settings. Use the 6-key navigation controller to scroll through menus and select options. The four context-sensitive soft keys below the display will change their function based on the current screen, providing quick access to relevant actions.

4.3 Built-in Productivity Applications

The Sangoma P325 includes several integrated applications:

  • Voicemail: Access and manage your voicemail messages. The 3-color LED MWI will indicate new messages.
  • Call Log: View a history of your dialed, received, and missed calls.
  • Contacts: Manage your phonebook entries.
  • Phone Status: View network status, IP address, and other system information.
  • User Presence: Check the availability status of other users on your system.
  • Parking: Utilize call parking features if supported by your PBX.

4.4 Bluetooth Functionality

The P325 features built-in Bluetooth. To pair a Bluetooth headset or other device, navigate to the Bluetooth settings menu on the phone's display and follow the pairing instructions for your specific device.

4.5 USB Port Usage

The USB port can be used for various accessories, such as USB headsets or Wi-Fi dongles, depending on the phone's firmware and supported peripherals. Consult your system administrator for compatible devices.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Phone

To clean the phone, use a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents, as these can damage the phone's surface and display. Disconnect the power adapter before cleaning.

5.2 Firmware Updates

Firmware updates are typically managed by your system administrator to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Do not attempt to manually update firmware unless instructed by your administrator or Sangoma support.

6. Troubleshooting
