4. Setup & Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and safety of your RTR75 fan. This product requires hardwiring. If you are not comfortable with electrical wiring, please consult a qualified electrician.

4.1 Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Ensure wall studs are spaced a minimum of 16 inches on center.
  • It is recommended to choose a stud wall section that contains a power outlet for wiring.
  • Verify that all necessary tools and materials are available (e.g., drywall saw, measuring tape, wiring tools).
  • IMPORTANT: Until the installation is complete, no lines can be energized!

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Find a suitable installation position: The typical installation is to install the diffuser at a high place and the blower (main fan unit) at a low place. If you want to get air from the ceiling, install the diffuser at a low place and note that you need to change the direction of the fan installation.
  2. Cut openings: Cut a 13.5" x 1.3" hole for installing the diffuser, and a 13.8" x 4.8" hole on the other side of the wall for installing the main fan unit.
  3. Provide power: Provide a switched 115 VAC power supply with wires long enough to connect to the motor leads of the RTR75 motor wires.
  4. Connect ports: Connect ports according to the circuit diagram (refer to the detailed wiring diagram in the included paper manual).
  5. Secure and install panels: After confirming that all interfaces are properly connected, arrange the internal cables so that no wires touch the fan, and then install the panel on the wall. Screw on the screws to fix it.
