This highlights the dual alert mechanism: an audible alarm from the receiver and a remote notification through the smartphone app.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Initiating an Alert

To summon assistance, simply press the large "CALL" button on the call button unit. An indicator light on the call button will illuminate briefly to confirm the signal transmission.

3.2 Receiver Alert Response

Upon receiving a signal from a call button, the receiver unit will:

  • Emit an audible alarm sound (ringtone).
  • Display "SOS" on its screen.
  • Send an immediate notification to all paired mobile devices via the Tuya/Smart Life app.

The alarm duration and volume can be adjusted through the mobile application settings.

3.3 Remote Monitoring via App

The Tuya/Smart Life app allows for remote monitoring and control:

  • Receive instant alarm notifications on your smartphone, regardless of your location, as long as your phone has an internet connection.
  • Adjust receiver settings such as ringtone type, volume, and alarm duration.
  • View a history of alarm events.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Call Button Battery Replacement

The call buttons are powered by CR2032 coin cell batteries. When the battery is low, the indicator light on the button may not illuminate, or the signal range may decrease. To replace the battery:

  1. Gently twist or pry open the back cover of the call button.
  2. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Securely close the back cover.
  5. Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

4.2 Cleaning

To maintain the performance and appearance of your alarm system:

  • Wipe the receiver and call buttons with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the device's surface or internal components.
  • Ensure no liquids enter the device openings.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Chatthen Personal Wireless Alarm System, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Problem: The receiver does not sound an alarm when the call button is pressed.
    Solution:
    • Check if the receiver is properly powered on and connected to a USB power source.
    • Ensure the call button has a fresh CR2032 battery installed correctly.
    • Verify that the call button and receiver are within the maximum operating range of 70 meters (230 feet). Walls and other obstructions can reduce this range.
    • Re-pair the call button with the receiver through the app if necessary.
  • Problem: No notifications are received on the mobile app.
    Solution:
    • Ensure the receiver is connected to your home's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Check the Wi-Fi indicator on the receiver.
    • Verify that your mobile phone has an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
    • Check the notification settings for the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app on your phone to ensure notifications are enabled.
    • Confirm that the receiver is correctly linked to your account in the app.
  • Problem: The signal range seems shorter than expected.
    Solution:
    • The maximum range of 70 meters (230 feet) is for open areas. Obstacles like thick walls, metal structures, and other electronic devices can significantly reduce the effective range.
    • Ensure the call button battery is not low.
    • Relocate the receiver to a more central position or closer to the areas where call buttons are used.
  • Problem: The receiver is not powering on.
    Solution:
    • Check the USB cable connection to both the receiver and the power adapter/port.
    • Try a different USB cable or power adapter to rule out a faulty accessory.
    • Ensure the power outlet or USB port is functional.
