1. Introduction

The AGM M8 Security+ 4G Rugged Flip Phone is designed for durability, ease of use, and secure communication. It features large buttons, a clear display, and specialized functions for user convenience and safety.

2. Setup

2.1. Battery and SIM Card Installation

To install the battery and SIM card(s), you must first remove the back cover of the phone. The AGM M8 supports dual SIM cards and an expandable microSD card for storage.

Follow these steps to install the battery and SIM cards:

  1. Locate the small notch or opening on the bottom edge of the phone's back cover.
  2. Use a small tool, such as a screwdriver or a fingernail, to carefully pry open the back cover.
  3. Insert your SIM card(s) into the designated slots. Ensure the gold contacts face downwards and the card is correctly oriented as indicated by the diagram on the phone.
  4. If using a microSD card for expanded storage, insert it into its dedicated slot.
  5. Place the battery into the battery compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
  6. Align the back cover with the phone's body and press firmly until it clicks securely into place.

2.3. Charging the Device

Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port at the bottom of the phone and plug the other end into the power adapter. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. The phone will indicate when it is charging. For convenient charging, an optional charging dock is available for separate purchase.

3.2. SOS Side Key

For emergencies, the AGM M8 includes a dedicated SOS side key. Pressing and holding this button for 5 seconds will automatically dial a pre-programmed emergency contact or service, providing a critical safety feature.

3.6. Dual SIM Cards Support

3.7. Secure Data (Security+ Version)

The Security+ version of the AGM M8 is designed for environments requiring strict data privacy. Features such as Bluetooth, cellular data, MMS, camera, USB data transfer, microSD expansion, file management, and multimedia capabilities are disabled to prevent data leaks and ensure secure usage.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power/End Call button until the screen lights up.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power/End Call button until the power-off options appear, then select 'Power Off'.

4.2. Making and Receiving Calls

  • Making a Call: Dial the number using the large keypad and press the Green Call button.
  • Receiving a Call: Flip open the phone to answer an incoming call, or press the Green Call button.
  • Ending a Call: Press the Red End Call button or close the phone.

4.3. Speed Dial (One-Click Call)

The M1, M2, and M3 keys can be programmed for one-click calls to frequently dialed numbers. This feature is particularly useful for quick access to important contacts.

To set up speed dial:

  1. Go to 'Settings' from the main menu.
  2. Navigate to 'Speed Dial' or 'One-Click Call' settings.
  3. Assign a contact number to each of the M1, M2, and M3 keys.

4.4. Text Messaging

To send a text message, navigate to the 'Messages' menu, select 'Write Message', and use the keypad to type your message. Select a recipient from your contacts or enter a new number, then send.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning Your Phone

Due to its rugged design, the AGM M8 can be cleaned with water. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before rinsing. For general cleaning, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

5.2. Battery Care

The 1500mAh removable battery provides over 7 hours of talk time and more than 2 weeks of standby time. To maximize battery life, avoid extreme temperatures and fully charge the phone before its first use. If the battery needs replacement, a new one can be easily installed.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Issue 1: Phone Won't Charge

Solution:

  1. Check the Charger: Use the original charger and charging cable that came with the M8 FLIP packaging to ensure compatibility.
  2. Perform a Factory Reset:
    • Reset the M8 FLIP to factory settings.
    • The default password for resetting is 1234.
    • After the reset is complete, restart the phone.

6.2. Issue 2: Accidental Activation of the SOS Side Key

Solution:

  1. After accidentally pressing the SOS side key, stop the alarm by pressing the red hang-up button.
  2. Press the 'Main' button, then select 'Settings'. Scroll down to find 'SOS Settings', tap on 'SOS Status', and select 'Off'.

This will prevent the alarm from sounding if the SOS side key is accidentally pressed again.

6.3. Issue 3: Don't Like the Sound When Pressing Phone Buttons?

Solution:

  1. Select a Profile Mode: Press the 'Main' button, select 'Profiles', and choose 'Silent' from the options. This will stop the button sounds.
  2. Customize Your Profile: In the 'Profiles' menu, press 'Options' to further customize a profile according to your preferences.

6.4. Issue 4: Can't Read Your SIM Card?

Solution:

  1. Activate the SIM Card: Ensure that your SIM card is activated by testing it in another phone first.
  2. Insert the SIM Card Correctly: When inserting the SIM card into the M8 FLIP, carefully open the SIM card slot and gently place the SIM card inside. Be cautious not to apply excessive force to avoid damaging the slot, which may prevent the SIM card from being read.
  3. Check Compatibility: Please reach out to us to verify whether your SIM card's carrier is compatible with the M8 FLIP.
