2. Safety Information

5. Setup

5.1 Installation Type

The thermostat supports both desktop use and wall-mounted installation. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

5.2 Wiring Instructions

Before proceeding, ensure the power to your HVAC system is completely off at the circuit breaker.

1. Remove your old thermostat's faceplate. Take a picture of the wiring for reference.
2. Disconnect the wires from your old thermostat.
3. Mount the new Walfront thermostat's wall plate to the desired location using the provided screws and anchors, or use the double-sided adhesive for desktop placement.
4. Connect the HVAC system wires to the corresponding terminals on the Walfront thermostat. This thermostat requires 18AWG wiring, specifically R and C lines for power. Refer to the wiring diagram in the included instruction book for detailed connections.
5. Once wiring is complete, attach the thermostat's touch screen unit to the back cover/wall plate.
6. Restore power to your HVAC system at the circuit breaker.

5.3 Initial Power-On and Wi-Fi Connection

Upon first power-on, the thermostat will guide you through the initial setup process, including connecting to your home Wi-Fi network (802.11B G N20 N40 at 2.4GHz).

1. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language and time zone.
2. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password.
3. Download the compatible mobile application (e.g., Tuya Smart app) from your device's app store.
4. Register or log in to the app and follow the in-app instructions to add your new thermostat. This typically involves putting the thermostat into pairing mode (refer to the on-screen instructions or the included instruction book for specific steps).
