The receiver is the central unit that receives signals from the sensor and emits alerts. It features volume controls, a mode button for chime selection, and indicators for different channels.

  • Volume Buttons (VOL+, VOL-): Adjust the alert volume.
  • Mode Button: Cycles through 7 unique chimes.
  • Power Button: Turns the receiver on/off.
  • Channel Indicators (1-7): Light up to indicate which sensor detected motion.
  • DC 5V (AC Adapter) Port: For connecting the power adapter.
  • 4 AA Backup Battery Compartment: For optional battery backup (batteries not included).
  • Non-slip MATS: For stable placement on surfaces.
  • Mounting Holes: For wall mounting.

4.2 Solar Wireless Motion Sensor

The sensor detects motion using Passive Infrared (PIR) technology and transmits signals wirelessly to the receiver. It is solar-powered and designed for outdoor use.

  • Solar Panel: Charges the internal battery, eliminating the need for frequent battery replacement.
  • PIR Sensor Lens: Detects motion and heat signatures.
  • Mounting Bracket: Allows for 360-degree adjustment for optimal positioning.
  • Weather-resistant Housing (IP66): Protects against water and dust.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Receiver Setup

  1. Power On: Connect the AC power adapter to the receiver and plug it into a standard wall outlet. Alternatively, insert 4 AA backup batteries (not included) into the battery compartment.
  2. Placement: Place the receiver in a central location within your home, ensuring it is within wireless range of your sensor(s). Avoid placing it near large metal objects or other electronic devices that may cause interference.

5.2 Sensor Installation

The sensor is designed for outdoor use and should be mounted in a location where it can effectively detect motion in your desired area, such as a driveway, walkway, or garden.

  1. Choose Location: Select a mounting location that provides a clear line of sight to the area you wish to monitor. The sensor has a detection range of up to 30 feet. Ensure the solar panel receives adequate sunlight for charging.
  2. Mounting Height: Mount the sensor approximately 3-4 feet (0.9-1.2 meters) above the ground. This height helps optimize detection and minimize false alarms from small animals.
  3. Secure Mounting: Use the provided screws and anchors to securely attach the sensor's mounting bracket to a stable surface, such as a wall, fence post, or tree.
  4. Adjust Angle: Adjust the sensor's angle using its 360-degree adjustable bracket to cover the desired detection zone. Test the detection area by walking through it to ensure proper coverage.

The sensor's solar panel charges its internal battery. Even on cloudy or rainy days, the battery can be charged, ensuring continuous operation.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Pairing Sensor(s) with Receiver

The system typically comes pre-paired. If you need to re-pair or add additional sensors (up to 7), follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the receiver is powered on.
  2. Press and hold the Mode button on the receiver until a channel indicator light starts flashing (e.g., Channel 1). This indicates pairing mode.
  3. Within 10 seconds, trigger the sensor by waving your hand in front of its lens. The receiver will chime and the corresponding channel light will stop flashing and remain solid, indicating successful pairing.
  4. Repeat for additional sensors, selecting a different flashing channel light on the receiver for each new sensor.

6.2 Adjusting Volume

Use the VOL+ and VOL- buttons on the side of the receiver to increase or decrease the alert volume.

6.3 Selecting Chimes

The receiver offers 7 unique chimes. Press the Mode button briefly to cycle through the available chimes. You can assign different chimes to different sensors to identify the detection location.

6.4 Motion Detection

When the sensor detects motion (from people, animals, or vehicles) within its detection zone, it will send a signal to the receiver. The receiver will then sound the selected chime and illuminate the corresponding channel indicator light.

The sensor is designed to detect movements from various sources, including:

  • People: Alerts you to visitors or intruders approaching your property.
  • Animals: Can detect large animals, providing awareness of wildlife or pets.
  • Vehicles: Notifies you when a vehicle enters or exits your driveway.

The system boasts a 1/2 mile wireless transmission range under ideal conditions, allowing for extensive coverage of your property.

7. Maintenance

  • Sensor Cleaning: Periodically wipe the solar panel and PIR sensor lens with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal performance and charging efficiency. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Check (Receiver): If using AA backup batteries, check them periodically and replace them if the receiver's performance degrades or if the power adapter is disconnected for extended periods.
  • Environmental Considerations: While the sensor is waterproof (IP66), extreme weather conditions (e.g., heavy snow accumulation on the solar panel) may temporarily affect performance. Clear any obstructions from the solar panel as needed.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Receiver not alarming or sensor not detecting.Sensor battery low; Sensor out of range; Sensor not paired; Obstruction in detection path.Ensure sensor solar panel receives sunlight; Move sensor closer to receiver; Re-pair sensor (Section 6.1); Clear obstructions from sensor's view.
False alarms.Sensor mounted too low; Direct sunlight on sensor; Moving objects (e.g., branches) in detection zone; Large animals.Adjust sensor mounting height; Reposition sensor to avoid direct sunlight; Clear foliage; Adjust sensor angle to minimize detection of unwanted movement.
Short wireless range.Obstructions (walls, trees, metal); Interference from other devices.Relocate receiver or sensor to minimize obstructions; Move receiver away from other electronics.
Receiver not powering on.Power adapter not connected; No backup batteries or batteries dead.Check power adapter connection; Install fresh AA backup batteries.
