3. Installation and Setup

3.1 Transformer Installation

The GKOLED 120W Low Voltage Transformer is designed for wall mounting. Select a suitable outdoor location near a 120V AC power outlet, ensuring it is protected from direct weather exposure.

1. Using the provided mounting hardware, securely attach the transformer to a sturdy vertical surface.
2. Ensure the transformer is positioned to allow for proper ventilation and access to controls and wiring terminals.

3.2 Wiring the Spot Lights to the Transformer

The transformer provides two 12V AC output channels. Connect your landscape lights to these terminals.

1. Run low voltage landscape wire (not included) from the transformer to the desired locations of your spot lights.
2. Strip approximately 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the landscape wire and the pre-wired leads of each spot light.
3. Connect the spot light wires to the landscape wire using the provided waterproof wire connectors. Ensure a tight and secure connection.
4. Connect the main landscape wire runs to the 12V AC output terminals on the transformer. Each terminal pair consists of a 'COM' (common) and a '12V' terminal. Ensure wires are securely fastened under the terminal screws.
5. Verify all connections are correct and secure before plugging the transformer into a 120V AC outlet.

3.3 Spot Light Placement and Installation

The 9W LED spot lights are designed for ground installation using the included sturdy aluminum spikes.

1. Choose desired locations for your spot lights. Ensure the location allows for proper illumination and wire routing.
2. Carefully push the aluminum spike into the ground until it is stable. Avoid forcing the spike into hard or rocky soil to prevent damage.
3. Attach the spot light fixture to the spike.
4. Adjust the angle of the spot light using the adjustable knuckle to direct illumination as desired.
5. Bury or conceal the low voltage wiring to protect it from damage and for a cleaner aesthetic.

4. Operating Instructions

The GKOLED transformer features an integrated photocell and timer for automated operation. The control panel on the transformer allows you to select various operating modes.

4.1 Control Panel Overview

The transformer's control panel typically includes a display and buttons for mode selection and adjustment. Refer to Image 3.1 for a visual representation.

• Photocell: Detects ambient light levels to automatically turn lights on at dusk and off at dawn.
• Timer: Allows setting specific durations for the lights to remain on after dusk. The transformer offers 11 preset operation modes.
• Buttons: Used to cycle through the available modes and set timer durations.

4.2 Setting Operating Modes

After plugging in the transformer, use the control buttons to select your desired operating mode. The display will indicate the current mode. Common modes include:

• ON: Lights remain on continuously.
• OFF: Lights remain off.
• AUTO (Photocell): Lights turn on at dusk and off at dawn.
• TIMER (e.g., 4H, 6H, 8H): Lights turn on at dusk and remain on for the set duration (e.g., 4, 6, or 8 hours) before turning off.

Consult the specific mode indicators on your transformer's display for detailed information on each of the 11 preset modes.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your GKOLED landscape lighting system.

• Cleaning: Periodically clean the lenses of the spot lights and the photocell on the transformer to ensure proper operation. Use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• Connections: Annually inspect all wiring connections for tightness and corrosion. Re-tighten or clean as necessary.
• Photocell: Ensure the photocell is not obstructed by debris, plants, or other objects that could interfere with its light-sensing capabilities.
• Fixture Condition: Check spot light fixtures and spikes for any signs of damage or instability. Replace damaged components promptly.
