Receiver Power Connection

Connect the provided USB power cord to the receiver unit and plug it into a standard wall outlet. The receiver is designed for indoor use.

Sensor Placement and Mounting

The sensors are weather-resistant and can be fixed to various outdoor locations such as walls, fences, or trees. Consider the following for optimal placement:

  • Line of Sight: For best range, ensure a clear line of sight between the sensor and the receiver.
  • Detection Area: Position the sensor to cover the desired detection area, such as a driveway or entryway.
  • Height: Mount the sensor at a height that allows for effective motion detection while minimizing false alarms from small animals.

The units are pre-paired before shipping, simplifying the setup process.

Operating Instructions

Wireless Range

The eMACROS driveway alarm boasts a super long receiving range of up to 1/2 mile (in ideal conditions). This range has been verified through real-world testing in various environments, including areas with trees, buildings, walls, and vehicles, ensuring reliable monitoring of your property.

Motion Detection

The motion sensor features a wide detection range, adjustable to minimize false alarms. You can customize the sensitivity settings:

  • High Sensitivity: Up to 30ft detection range.
  • Low Sensitivity: Up to 15ft detection range.

Adjusting the sensitivity helps reduce alerts caused by small animals, wind, sunlight, or other environmental factors.

Maintenance

Weather Resistance

The eMACROS motion sensors are designed to be outdoor weather-resistant with an IP65 rating, capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions, including temperatures from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). This ensures reliable operation year-round.

Battery Replacement

When the sensor batteries are low, the receiver will indicate a low battery alert. Replace the 4 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries in the affected sensor promptly to ensure continuous operation.

Troubleshooting

False Alarms

If you experience frequent false alarms, consider the following:

  • Adjust Sensitivity: Lower the sensitivity setting of the sensor from 30ft to 15ft.
  • Reposition Sensor: Ensure the sensor is not directly facing sunlight, heat sources, or areas with dense foliage that might sway in the wind. Mounting it higher can also help avoid small animals.

No Connection Between Units

If a sensor is not connecting to the receiver:

  • Check Batteries: Ensure the sensor has fresh batteries and they are installed correctly.
  • Power Cycle: Turn off and on both the receiver and the sensor.
  • Range: Verify that the sensor is within the effective range of the receiver, considering any obstructions.
  • Compatibility: Note that different generations or models of eMACROS systems may not be cross-compatible for pairing. Ensure all components are from the same system or explicitly stated as compatible.
