5. Setup

5.1 Power Supply

Your LEOTEC radio can be powered by two methods: AC power or batteries.

AC Power Operation:

  1. Ensure the radio is turned off.
  2. Insert the included AC power cable into the AC input jack on the radio.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cable into a standard 120V/60Hz wall outlet.
  4. The radio is now ready for use with AC power.

Battery Power Operation:

For portable use, the radio requires 3 x 'D' cell batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 3 'D' cell batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.
  5. The radio is now ready for use with battery power.

6.1 Power On/Off and Volume Control

6.2 AM/FM Radio Operation

The radio supports AM (520-1710 kHz) and FM (87-108 MHz) frequencies.

  1. Slide the Function Button to select either 'AM' or 'FM' mode.
  2. For FM reception, extend the Retractable Antenna fully for optimal signal. For AM reception, the internal antenna is generally sufficient, but you may need to rotate the radio for best signal.
  3. Rotate the Tuning Control knob to scan for radio stations. The tuning dial will indicate the selected frequency.
  4. Adjust the Volume Control to your desired listening level.

6.3 Bluetooth Function

Connect your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device to the radio for wireless audio playback.

  1. Slide the Function Button to 'BT' (Bluetooth) mode. The radio will enter pairing mode, indicated by an audible prompt or flashing indicator (if available).
