2. Safety Information

To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, or personal injury, always follow these basic safety precautions:

4. Installation and Setup

4.1 Mounting Options

The fan supports two primary mounting configurations:

  • Flat Ceiling Mount: For standard, flat ceilings.
  • Angled Ceiling Mount: Suitable for ceilings angled up to 23 degrees. For steeper slopes, a separate SMA180XXX adapter is required (sold separately).

4.2 Electrical Connection

Ensure power is disconnected at the circuit breaker before wiring. Connect the fan's electrical wires to your household wiring according to the provided wiring diagram in the Installation Guide. It is recommended to consult a qualified electrician for proper installation.

4.3 Blade and Light Kit Assembly

Attach the custom Taylor 20-inch polycarbonate blades to the motor assembly. If using the optional LED light kit, follow the instructions to install it and the lens cover. The light kit is dimmable.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Craftmade Taylor ceiling fan can be controlled using the included WIDC handheld remote control or via Wi-Fi enabled smart devices.

5.1 Remote Control Operation

The WIDC handheld remote allows you to control the fan speed, light on/off, light dimming, and fan direction (forward/reverse for summer/winter modes).

  • Fan Speed: Use the designated buttons to adjust fan speed (6-speed reversible DC motor).
  • Light Control: Press the light button to turn the LED light on or off. Hold the button to dim or brighten the light.
  • Fan Direction: A button on the remote controls the fan's rotational direction, optimizing airflow for different seasons.

6. Smart Features and Connectivity

The Craftmade Taylor fan is Wi-Fi enabled and integrates with Smart by Bond for enhanced control and voice activation.

6.1 Wi-Fi Connectivity (Smart by Bond)

Download the Smart by Bond app on your smartphone or tablet. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your fan to your home Wi-Fi network. This enables control of fan functions from your smart device.

6.2 Voice Activation and Smart Home Integration

Once connected via Smart by Bond, your fan can be integrated with popular smart home devices and voice assistants, including Alexa. Refer to the Smart by Bond app or your smart home device's instructions for specific setup procedures to enable voice commands for your fan and light.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your ceiling fan.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan housing and blades with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Blade Inspection: Check fan blades for any cracks or damage. Ensure all blade screws are securely tightened.
  • Light Kit: The LED light source is designed for long life. If replacement is ever needed, consult a qualified electrician or Craftmade support.
