3. Setup Instructions
- Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in the manual are present.
- Stand Assembly:
- Place the grill body upside down on a soft, protected surface to prevent scratches.
- Attach the leg assembly to the designated slots on the underside of the grill. Secure with the provided pins/bolts.
- Attach the wheels to the appropriate leg extensions.
- Once the legs are securely attached, carefully flip the grill upright. The quick-fold legs will lock into place, forming a stable stand.
- Side Tables: Extend the side tables outwards from the main grill body until they lock into position. These provide additional prep space.
- Drip Tray Installation: Insert the water pan/drip tray into its designated slot beneath the burners. This collects grease and drippings.
- Grill Grates: Place the cast iron grill grates onto the cooking surface. The RoadTrip 285 typically includes two separate grates.
- Propane Connection:
- Ensure all burner control knobs are in the "OFF" position.
- Connect a 16.4 oz propane cylinder directly to the grill's regulator. Hand-tighten counter-clockwise.
- For extended use, connect the Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter (sold separately) to a 20-pound propane cylinder and then to the grill. Hand-tighten all connections.
- Perform a leak test: Apply soapy water to all gas connections. If bubbles appear, there is a leak. Tighten connections or replace parts as necessary. Do not use the grill if a leak is detected.
