1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your CO-Z 1.1 Gallon 1750W Water Distiller. This appliance is designed to produce pure distilled water by removing impurities, VOCs, and other solids from tap water, suitable for various household and commercial applications.
2. Important Safety Instructions
Please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before using this appliance. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Always ensure the distiller is properly grounded. Avoid contact between water and electrical components. Do not operate with wet hands.
- Automatic Shut-Off: The distiller is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature that activates when the temperature reaches 239°F (115°C) or when the water level is low. Do not override this safety mechanism.
- Hot Surfaces: The distiller's exterior and internal components become very hot during operation. Allow the unit to cool down for 15-30 minutes before handling or cleaning to prevent burns. Use oven mitts if necessary.
- Lid Handling: Do not twist the top half from the boiling chamber when hot. Ensure the lid is properly seated during operation to prevent steam leakage.
- Water Source: If using water from an older water heater or boiler system, be aware of potential rust or bacteria that could damage the distiller or affect water quality.
- Placement: Place the distiller on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Children and Pets: Keep the appliance out of reach of children and pets.

- Place Distiller Head: Carefully place the distiller head back onto the boiling chamber, ensuring the silicone seal ring is properly seated. The water outlet spout should align with the opening of the glass collection pitcher.
- Connect Power: Connect the power cord to the distiller and then plug it into a standard 110-120V electrical outlet.
5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Press the power button on the digital control panel. The display will show the current temperature, target temperature, and a default distillation duration.

Figure 4: The intuitive digital control panel displays real-time and set temperatures, along with the timer.
- Set Temperature and Time: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the target temperature (range 86°F to 226°F or 30°C to 108°C) and distillation time as desired. The default setting is typically 220°F (104°C) and 2 hours 40 minutes for a full 1.1 gallon cycle. You can switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius using the dedicated button.
- Start Distillation: Water will boil, turn into steam, condense, and then drip into the collection pitcher. The built-in fan will operate to cool the condensing coils.

Figure 5: Distilled water slowly drips into the collection pitcher during operation.
- Monitor Progress: The dual temperature display allows you to track the real-time temperature and remaining distillation time.
- Automatic Shut-Off: The distiller will automatically turn off once the set time is complete or if the water level in the boiling chamber becomes too low.
- Collect Distilled Water: After the cycle is complete and the unit has cooled, carefully remove the collection pitcher. The distilled water is now ready for use.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your water distiller. The frequency of cleaning depends on the hardness of your tap water.
Cleaning the Boiling Chamber:
- Cool Down: Always allow the distiller to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove Residue: After each use, you will notice mineral residue at the bottom of the boiling chamber. For light residue, simply wipe it clean.
- Deep Cleaning (Citric Acid): For stubborn scale or limescale buildup, use the provided cleaning powder (citric acid) or white vinegar.
- Add 1-4 tablespoons of citric acid powder (depending on buildup) to the boiling chamber.
- Fill the chamber with hot water up to the "FULL" line.
- Let it soak for 15-30 minutes. For heavy buildup, you can briefly heat the solution (do not boil dry) or let it soak longer.
- Use a soft-bristle brush or sponge to gently scrub the interior. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the stainless steel.
- Drain the solution and rinse the chamber thoroughly with clean water.

Cleaning the Silicone Seal Ring:
- Remove the silicone seal ring from the distiller head monthly.
- Wash it with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
- Reinstall the ring, ensuring it is properly seated according to the arrow direction (if present) to maintain a tight seal.
Replacing Charcoal Filters:
- Replace the charcoal filter packet every 3 to 6 months, or more frequently depending on usage and water quality.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Water leakage from distiller head. | Lid not properly seated, damaged silicone seal ring, or excessive steam pressure. | Ensure lid is securely placed. Inspect and clean/replace the silicone seal ring. Allow unit to cool before handling. |
| Unit not distilling water or shutting off prematurely. | Insufficient water in boiling chamber, incorrect temperature setting, or power interruption. | Ensure water is filled to "FULL" line. Verify temperature setting is appropriate (e.g., 220°F). Check power connection. |
| Excessive mineral residue/scale buildup. | Hard water usage, infrequent cleaning. | Clean the boiling chamber regularly with citric acid or white vinegar as per maintenance instructions. |
| Loose glass pitcher handle. | Screws have loosened over time. | Tighten the handle screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Handle with both hands for balance when full. |
| Unusual noise during operation. | Normal fan operation for cooling. | A moderate fan noise is normal during distillation as the cooling system operates. |
