Components:

  • Water Reservoir: Located at the back, with clear markings for water levels.
  • Filter Basket: Removable basket for holding ground coffee and the filter.
  • Glass Carafe: Heat-resistant glass carafe with a handle and lid, designed to hold up to 12 cups of coffee.
  • Heating Plate: Keeps the brewed coffee warm.
  • Power Button: On/Off switch, often illuminated when the machine is operating.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the coffee machine and all its components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean all removable parts (carafe, filter basket) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
  3. First Brew Cycle (without coffee):
    • Fill the water reservoir to the "MAX" level with fresh, cold water.
    • Place the empty filter basket into its holder.
    • Place the empty carafe on the heating plate.
    • Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
    • Press the power button to start a brewing cycle. Allow the full cycle to complete.
    • Discard the water from the carafe. This process cleans the internal components and removes any manufacturing residues.
  4. Placement: Place the coffee machine on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from the edge of the counter and out of reach of children. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.

Operating Instructions

  1. Fill Water Reservoir: Open the lid of the water reservoir and fill it with fresh, cold water up to the desired number of cups, indicated by the water level markings. Do not exceed the "MAX" level.
  2. Add Coffee Grounds: Place a paper filter (or the reusable filter if included) into the filter basket. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one tablespoon of coffee grounds per cup, but adjust to your taste.
  3. Close Lid and Place Carafe: Close the lid of the coffee machine securely. Ensure the empty glass carafe is correctly positioned on the heating plate.
  4. Start Brewing: Plug the coffee machine into a power outlet. Press the power button. The indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the brewing process has started.
  5. Brewing Process: Water will heat up and drip through the coffee grounds into the carafe. The brewing process will take several minutes.
  6. Keep Warm Function: Once brewing is complete, the machine will automatically switch to a "keep warm" function, maintaining the coffee's temperature on the heating plate. The indicator light will remain on.
  7. Serving: Carefully remove the carafe from the heating plate to pour coffee. The drip-stop feature will temporarily prevent coffee from dripping onto the heating plate.
  8. Turn Off: After serving or when the carafe is empty, press the power button again to turn off the machine. Unplug the machine from the power outlet when not in use.

Note: For best results, use fresh, cold water and high-quality coffee grounds. Do not open the lid or remove the carafe during the brewing cycle, as this may cause hot water or coffee to overflow.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee machine.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Unplug: Always unplug the coffee machine and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Carafe and Filter Basket: Remove the carafe and filter basket. Discard used coffee grounds and filter. Wash the carafe and filter basket in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are generally top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Heating Plate: Wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.

Descaling (Every 2-4 Months, or as needed):

Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee machine over time, affecting performance and taste. Descale regularly.

  1. Prepare Solution: Mix 2-4 tablespoons of white vinegar with a full carafe of cold water. Alternatively, use a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee makers, following its instructions.
  2. Run Cycle: Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir. Place an empty filter (paper or reusable) in the filter basket. Place the empty carafe on the heating plate.
  3. Brew: Turn on the coffee machine and allow half of the solution to brew through. Turn off the machine and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
  4. Complete Cycle: Turn the machine back on and allow the remaining solution to brew through.
  5. Rinse Cycles: Discard the descaling solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run at least two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining descaling solution.

Caution: Never immerse the main body of the coffee machine, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
