Introduction

The SYMA X710W Drone is a foldable quadcopter designed for both beginners and experienced users, offering an immersive FPV (First-Person View) experience with its HD 1080P camera. Equipped with optical flow positioning, it ensures stable hovering and precise control. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to help you get the most out of your drone.

What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your SYMA X710W Drone, please ensure all the following components are present:

Setup Guide

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the drone's batteries. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the battery and plug the USB end into a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The indicator light on the charging cable will show charging status (usually red for charging, off/green for fully charged). Each battery supports up to 24 minutes of flight time and takes approximately 60 minutes to fully charge.

2. Installing Drone Battery

Once charged, open the battery compartment on the drone (located at the bottom). Connect the battery plug to the drone's power port. Ensure the connection is secure. Close the battery compartment.

3. Controller Setup

The remote controller requires 4 x AA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the controller, insert the batteries with correct polarity, and close the compartment. Attach the phone mount to the top of the controller if you plan to use the FPV feature with your smartphone.

4. App Download & Connection

For FPV and advanced control features, download the SYMA FLY app from your smartphone's app store. Power on the drone and the controller. Connect your smartphone to the drone's Wi-Fi network (usually named 'SYMA-X710W-XXXX'). Open the SYMA FLY app to establish the connection and view the live FPV feed.

Operating the Drone

The SYMA X710W Drone offers various flight functions for an enjoyable experience:

• One Key Take off/Landing: Press a single button on the controller for automatic take off or landing.
• Altitude Hold: The drone maintains a stable altitude, making it easier to control and capture steady footage.
• Optical Flow Positioning: This technology enhances hovering stability and precise location, especially useful for indoor flying or in areas with minimal GPS signal.
• Headless Mode: Eliminates the need to adjust the drone's position before flight. The forward direction is always the direction the pilot is facing.

Camera Operation

The drone features a 1080P HD FPV camera. You can capture stunning aerial footage and photos directly to your connected smartphone. The camera angle can be manually adjusted for versatile shots. The FPV feed allows for real-time viewing of what the drone sees.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SYMA X710W Drone:

• Cleaning: Gently wipe the drone's body and propellers with a soft, dry cloth after each flight to remove dust and debris.
• Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for any signs of damage (cracks, bends). Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided mini screwdriver and extra propellers.
• Battery Care: Always ensure batteries are fully charged before flight. Store batteries in a cool, dry place. The drone features low-voltage protection and over-current protection to ensure healthy battery use. Avoid overcharging or completely draining the batteries.
• Storage: When not in use, fold the drone's arms inward for compact storage. Store the drone and its accessories in a safe, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your drone, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

• Drone not powering on: Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Check if the power button on the drone is pressed and held until lights illuminate.
• Controller not connecting: Make sure both the drone and controller are powered on. Perform the pairing sequence as described in the Setup Guide (push left joystick up and down).
• Unstable flight/Drifting: Calibrate the drone before flight on a flat surface. Check propellers for damage or debris. Adjust trim settings on the controller if the drone drifts in a specific direction.
• No FPV feed: Ensure your smartphone is connected to the drone's Wi-Fi network. Verify that the SYMA FLY app is open and connected to the drone.
• Short flight time: Ensure batteries are fully charged. Flight time can be affected by aggressive flying, strong winds, or cold temperatures.
