1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Crivit Parkside® Watering Timer. This device is designed to automate your garden watering, providing convenience and efficiency. Please read this manual carefully before first use to ensure proper installation, operation, and maintenance. Keep this manual for future reference.

2. Safety Instructions

  • Always ensure the device is securely attached to the tap to prevent leaks or detachment.
  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures outside its operating range.
  • Do not immerse the device in water. It is splash-proof (IPX4), but not waterproof.
  • Keep out of reach of children. The device includes a child safety lock feature.
  • Use only the specified battery type (alkaline batteries) and ensure correct polarity during installation.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

The Parkside Watering Timer consists of the main unit with a digital display and control buttons. Key components include:

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Open the cover and insert the two long-life alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely. The display should light up.

5.2 Connecting to the Tap

  1. Ensure your tap has a G1" (33.3 mm) thread. If your tap has a G¾" (26.5 mm) thread, use the included adapter.
  2. Screw the watering timer firmly onto the tap. Ensure a tight seal to prevent leaks.
  3. Connect your garden hose to the hose outlet at the bottom of the watering timer using the Parkside Click System compatible hose connector.

5.3 Initial Configuration

  1. Upon first power-on, the device will prompt you to select a language. Use the navigation buttons to choose your preferred language (14 languages available) and confirm.
  2. Set the current time and day. Follow the on-screen prompts and use the navigation buttons to adjust values.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Programming Watering Schedules

The device supports up to 10 independent watering schedules.

  1. Press the MENU button to enter the programming mode.
  2. Navigate to 'Schedule' and select the desired schedule number (e.g., S1, S2).
  3. Set Start Time: Adjust the hour and minute for when watering should begin.
  4. Set Watering Duration: Specify how long watering should last (min. 1 minute / max. 9 hours, 59 minutes).
  5. Set Watering Interval: Choose how often the schedule should repeat (1 to 7 days). For example, '1 day' means daily, '2 days' means every other day, etc.
  6. Select Days of the Week: For specific days, select the days (MTWTFSS) on which the schedule should be active.
  7. Confirm each setting to save and proceed to the next.

6.2 Memory Function

The device features a memory function that retains the last selected parameter settings. This means your programmed schedules will be saved even if the batteries are removed or replaced, simplifying re-setup.

6.3 Manual Water Withdrawal

To manually turn on or off the water flow outside of programmed schedules:

  • Press the dedicated red button (often marked with a water droplet icon) on the front panel.
  • Press it again to stop the manual water flow.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no water enters the battery compartment or other openings.

7.2 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the display, it's time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1. Replace both batteries simultaneously with new long-life alkaline batteries.

7.3 Storage

During winter months or periods of non-use, disconnect the watering timer from the tap. Remove the batteries and store the device in a dry, frost-free location.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Check battery polarity. Replace batteries if they are old or depleted.
  • No water flow: Ensure the tap is fully open. Check if the hose is kinked or blocked. Verify that a schedule is active or try manual water withdrawal.
  • Leaks at connection points: Ensure all connections (tap, hose) are tightened securely. Check rubber washers for damage and replace if necessary.
  • Display not working or dim: Batteries may be low. Replace them.
  • Incorrect time/schedule: Re-enter the correct time and reprogram schedules as per Section 6.1.
