Setup Guide
1. MicroSD Card Insertion
Insert a high-endurance MicroSD card (Class 10, U3, A2 recommended, up to 1TB) into the dash cam's MicroSD card slot. Ensure the card is inserted correctly until it clicks into place. It is recommended to format the MicroSD card within the dash cam settings before first use and periodically thereafter.
2. Mounting the Dash Cam
The VANTRUE N5 dash cam is designed for front windshield mounting. The rear camera is connected via a cable to the main unit.
- Clean the installation area on your windshield thoroughly with the provided cleaning cloth.
- Apply the electrostatic adhesion sheet to the cleaned area on the windshield. Smooth out any air bubbles.
- Attach the 3M adhesive mount to the electrostatic adhesion sheet. Press firmly for 30 seconds.
- Wait at least 12 hours for the adhesive to cure before attaching the main dash cam unit to the mount.
- Connect the rear camera to the main unit using the provided rear camera cable. Route the cable neatly along the vehicle's interior trim using the included cable clips and interior stripping tool.
- Adjust the angle of both the front and rear cameras to ensure optimal recording coverage. The front camera can be rotated 90 degrees, and the rear camera can be rotated 100 degrees horizontally and 120 degrees vertically.

3. Power Connection
Connect the provided cigarette lighter power cable to your vehicle's 12V power outlet and the dash cam's power input. The device will automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle ignition is turned on.
Important Notes:
- Do not use conversion adapters for the power cable or rear camera cable, as this may negatively affect device operation.
- The VANTRUE N5 dash cam does not support PD fast charging. Please use the included car charger.
Operating Instructions
1. Recording Modes
The VANTRUE N5 offers flexible recording configurations:
- 4-Camera Mode: Records front (1944P), front interior (1080P), rear interior (1080P), and rear exterior (1080P) simultaneously at 30FPS.
- 3-Camera Mode: Records front, front interior, and rear exterior.
- 2-Camera Mode: Records front and front interior, or front and rear exterior.
- Front Only Mode: Records only the front view at 2592x1944P (2.5K) at 30FPS.

2. Advanced Imaging Features
The N5 is equipped with advanced technology for clear recording in various conditions:
- STARVIS 2 Night Vision: The front camera utilizes a Sony IMX675 sensor with STARVIS 2 technology and an F1.8 aperture lens for superior low-light performance, capturing clear images even in dark environments.
- WDR/HDR Technology: Front and front interior cameras support WDR (Wide Dynamic Range), while rear and rear interior cameras support HDR (High Dynamic Range) to balance exposure in challenging lighting conditions, preventing overexposure and underexposure.
- Infrared Night Vision: Both front and rear interior cameras feature infrared lights for clear recording of the cabin even in complete darkness.

Image: Comparison of night vision performance with STARVIS 2 and illustration of WDR/HDR benefits.
3. Loop Recording
When the MicroSD card reaches its storage capacity, the dash cam automatically overwrites the oldest files with new recordings. This ensures continuous recording without manual intervention. Critical event files (locked by G-sensor or manual action) are protected from being overwritten.

4. G-Sensor (Emergency Recording)
The built-in G-sensor detects sudden movements or impacts. In the event of a collision, it automatically triggers emergency recording, saving the current footage (typically a few seconds before and after the event) to a protected folder, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. The sensitivity of the G-sensor can be adjusted in the settings.

5. Parking Surveillance (Requires Hardwire Kit)
To enable 24-hour parking surveillance, a separate hardwire kit (ASIN: B094882TJC) is required. The N5 offers multiple parking monitoring modes:
- Pre-Record Function: Records 10 seconds before and 30 seconds after a detected event (motion or impact).
- Motion Detection: Automatically starts recording when motion is detected around the vehicle. The detection area can be adjusted to minimize false triggers.
- Impact Detection: Records when an impact is detected while parked.
- Time-Lapse Recording: Captures still images at set intervals (e.g., 5 frames per second) and stitches them into a video, saving storage space and power.
- Low Bitrate Recording: Records at a lower resolution (720P or 1080P at 15FPS) to conserve MicroSD card space during extended parking surveillance.
- Parking Low-Light Night Vision: Enhances visibility in dark parking environments, making recordings up to 30% brighter than standard night vision.

Maintenance
1. MicroSD Card Management
Regularly format your MicroSD card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. This helps maintain stable recording and extends the lifespan of the card. Always use a high-endurance MicroSD card (U3/A2 recommended) designed for dash cam use.
2. Cleaning
Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the dash cam lenses and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, which can damage the device. Ensure the lenses are free of dust and smudges for clear video quality.
Troubleshooting
- Device Overheating or Unexpected Shutdowns: The N5 is a high-performance device that may generate heat during operation, especially with 4-channel recording. It features built-in high-temperature protection. If the device temperature reaches 60°C, the display may automatically turn off to reduce heat. If the temperature continues to rise, the system will automatically shut down to protect the internal components. This is normal protective behavior. Ensure the device is not exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods when parked.
- SD Card Errors or Recording Stops: This often indicates an issue with the MicroSD card. Ensure you are using a high-speed (U3/A2) and high-endurance MicroSD card. Lower speed cards may not be able to handle the data write rate required for 4-channel recording, leading to errors. Try formatting the card or replacing it with a recommended VANTRUE MicroSD card or another reputable high-endurance brand.
- Wi-Fi Connection Issues: Ensure your smartphone is within 2 meters of the dash cam for a stable Wi-Fi connection. If you experience difficulty connecting, try temporarily disabling your phone's mobile data or enabling airplane mode (while keeping Wi-Fi on) before connecting to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network.
- Poor Image Quality (Night or Glare): Ensure all camera lenses are clean and free from obstructions. For glare from the windshield, consider purchasing and installing the optional CPL polarizing filter (ASIN: B0B2V8YK63).
- Voice Commands Not Responding: Speak clearly and directly towards the dash cam. Ensure the vehicle interior is not excessively noisy. Refer to the list of supported voice commands in the operating instructions.
