Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and safety of your range hood. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified technician.
1. Planning and Preparation
Before beginning, ensure you have sufficient bracing in the wall to support the weight of the range hood. Determine the center of the wall where the hood will be installed. The minimum height above the cooktop should be 25 inches for electric ranges and 30 inches for gas ranges.

This image illustrates the overall dimensions of the range hood, including its width of 47.24 inches, depth of 23.62 inches, and adjustable height from 29.14 inches to 44.29 inches. These measurements are critical for planning your installation space.
2. Mounting the Hood
Mark the wall for the mounting points. Drill holes and insert appropriate anchors. Leave the mounting screws protruding approximately 1/4 inch to allow the hood to be hung. Carefully lift the hood and attach it to the mounting screws, then tighten the screws to secure the unit.
3. Ducting and Electrical Connections
Connect the 10-inch round duct to the air outlet adapter on the hood. Ensure all connections are sealed with foil-backed tape to prevent air leaks. Make the necessary electrical connections according to local codes. Plug the power cord into a grounded outlet.
4. Chimney Installation
Install the chimney mounting brackets on the wall, ensuring they are level and aligned with the hood. Slide the two-part chimney extensions together and then onto the hood, securing them to the mounting brackets. Finally, slide the decorative crown molding trim onto the top of the chimney and fasten it into place.

5. Understanding CFM Requirements
To determine the appropriate CFM for your kitchen, consider the following methods:
- Room Volume Method: Multiply the length, width, and height of your kitchen (in feet) to get the cubic footage. Divide this number by 4 (to ensure air exchange every 4 minutes). This gives you the minimum CFM needed.
- Gas Range Method: For every 10,000 BTUs of your gas range, you need approximately 100 CFM. For example, a 50,000 BTU gas range would require 500 CFM.
- Electric Range Method: For every 10 inches of cook space on an electric range, you need approximately 100 CFM. For example, a 30-inch electric range would require 300 CFM.
It is generally advisable to choose a range hood with a slightly higher CFM than your calculated minimum to provide a buffer, especially if you frequently cook smoky or oily foods, or if your ductwork involves multiple turns or long runs. Always round up to the nearest 100 CFM increment when selecting a model.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.

1. Baffle Filter Cleaning
The stainless steel baffle filters are designed to capture grease and are dishwasher-safe. Remove the filters by pulling the spring release latches and dropping them down. Clean them regularly (monthly or as needed, depending on cooking frequency) in your dishwasher or by hand with hot, soapy water. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
2. Stainless Steel Surface Cleaning
Clean the stainless steel surfaces with a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner and a soft cloth. Always wipe in the direction of the grain to avoid scratching. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals.
3. Light Bulb Replacement
To replace a GU10 Halogen bulb, ensure the power is off and the bulb has cooled. Gently twist and pull the old bulb out, then insert and twist the new bulb into place.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your range hood, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Fan Not Operating: Check if the unit is plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped. Ensure the power button is pressed.
- Lights Not Working: Verify the light button is pressed. Check if the light bulbs are securely in place or need replacement.
- Poor Suction: Ensure the baffle filters are clean and not clogged with grease. Check for obstructions in the ductwork. Verify that the fan speed is set appropriately for the cooking task.
- Excessive Noise: Check for loose parts or obstructions in the fan blades. Ensure the ductwork is properly installed and sealed.
