Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to connect your Hisense HS2100 Sound Bar system to your television.

1. Connecting the Wireless Subwoofer

The wireless subwoofer should automatically pair with the sound bar when both are powered on. If pairing does not occur automatically, follow these steps:

  1. Place the subwoofer within 10 meters (33 feet) of the sound bar.
  2. Ensure both the sound bar and subwoofer are plugged into a power outlet and turned on.
  3. If the subwoofer indicator light is not solid blue, press and hold the PAIR button on the back of the subwoofer until it blinks rapidly.
  4. On the sound bar, press and hold the Source button on the remote control or the sound bar itself until the display shows "PAIRING".
  5. Once successfully paired, the subwoofer indicator light will turn solid blue.

2. Connecting to your TV (HDMI ARC Recommended)

For the best audio quality and ease of control, HDMI ARC is the recommended connection method.

HDMI ARC Connection:

  1. Connect one end of the provided HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on your sound bar.
  2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on your television. (Look for a port labeled "HDMI ARC" or "HDMI eARC").
  3. Turn on your TV and the sound bar.
  4. On your TV's settings, navigate to Audio Output and select the HDMI ARC option. Refer to your TV's user manual for specific instructions.
  5. Ensure your TV's HDMI-CEC feature (e.g., Anynet+, Bravia Sync, SimpLink) is enabled for single-remote control.

Optical Connection:

  1. Connect an optical cable (not included) to the OPTICAL port on your sound bar.
  2. Connect the other end of the optical cable to the OPTICAL OUT port on your television.
  3. Turn on your TV and the sound bar.
  4. On your TV's settings, navigate to Audio Output and select the Optical or Digital Audio Out option.
  5. On the sound bar, press the Source button on the remote or sound bar until "OPT" appears on the display.

3. Wall Mounting (Optional)

The sound bar can be wall-mounted using the included wall mount kit.

  1. Determine the desired mounting location on the wall, ensuring it is level and secure.
  2. Use the provided wall mount template (if included in your package) to mark the drilling points.
  3. Drill two holes at the marked positions and insert the wall anchors.
  4. Insert the screws into the anchors, leaving a small gap for the sound bar to hang.
  5. Carefully align the keyholes on the back of the sound bar with the screws and slide the sound bar down to secure it.

1. Power On/Off

  • Press the Power button (Power button icon) on the remote control or the sound bar to turn the unit on or off.

2. Input Source Selection

  • Press the Source button (Source button icon) repeatedly on the remote control or the sound bar to cycle through available input sources: HDMI ARC, Optical, Bluetooth, AUX, USB. The selected input will be displayed on the sound bar's front panel.

3. Volume Control

  • Press VOL+ to increase the volume.
  • Press VOL- to decrease the volume.
  • Press the Mute button (Mute button icon) to mute or unmute the sound.

4. EQ Modes

The HS2100 offers 6 preset EQ modes to optimize audio for different content types:

  • Music Mode: Ideal for listening to music.
  • Movie Mode: Enhances cinematic audio.
  • News Mode: Optimizes dialogue clarity.
  • Sports Mode: Enhances sports commentary and crowd sounds.
  • Game Mode: Provides immersive gaming audio.
  • Night Mode: Reduces dynamic range for late-night listening.

Press the EQ button on the remote to cycle through these modes.

5. Bass and Treble Adjustment

  • Use the BASS+ / BASS- buttons to adjust the subwoofer's bass level.
  • Use the TREBLE+ / TREBLE- buttons to adjust the treble level.

Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your sound bar system.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the surfaces of the sound bar and subwoofer. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the sound bar and subwoofer to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Placement: Avoid placing the unit in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in areas with high humidity or dust.
