5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Camera

Before initial use, fully charge the camera using the provided USB charging cable. Connect the cable to the camera's charging port and a standard 5V/2A USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

5.2 App Installation and Account Creation

1. Download the 'O-KAM' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store).
2. Open the app and register for a new account using your email address.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration and login.

5.3 Adding the Camera to the App

1. In the O-KAM app, tap the '+' icon to add a new device.
2. Select 'Battery Camera' or scan the QR code on the camera.
3. Power on the camera. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
4. Follow the app's instructions to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. This usually involves generating a QR code on your phone screen for the camera to scan.
5. Once connected, name your camera and set its location.

5.4 Mounting the Camera and Solar Panel

Choose a mounting location that provides a clear view of the area you wish to monitor and receives ample sunlight for the solar panel. Ensure the Wi-Fi signal is strong at the chosen location.

1. Attach the mounting bracket to the desired surface using the provided screws and anchors.
2. Secure the camera to the mounting bracket.
3. Mount the solar panel in a location that receives direct sunlight for most of the day.
4. Connect the solar panel cable to the camera's charging port.
5. Adjust the camera and solar panel angles for optimal coverage and sunlight exposure.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Live View

Open the O-KAM app and select your camera from the device list to access the live video feed. You can view real-time footage, take screenshots, and record video manually.

6.2 Two-Way Audio

While in live view, tap the microphone icon to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's surroundings.

6.3 Motion Detection Settings

Navigate to the camera settings in the app to customize motion detection. You can adjust sensitivity, set activity zones to reduce false alerts, and schedule detection times. Enable push notifications to receive instant alerts on your smartphone.

6.4 Video Playback

Access recorded footage through the app. You can view recordings stored on the microSD card or in the cloud (for the past 3 days). Use the timeline to navigate through recorded events.

6.5 Alexa Integration

To connect with Alexa, enable the O-KAM skill in the Alexa app. Follow the instructions to link your O-KAM account. Once linked, you can use voice commands like "Alexa, show me the [camera name]" to view the live feed on compatible Alexa devices.

7. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lens and solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to ensure clear images and efficient solar charging. Do not use harsh chemicals.
• Battery Health: While the solar panel helps maintain charge, if the camera is in a low-light environment for extended periods, you may need to manually charge the battery using the USB cable.
• Firmware Updates: Check the O-KAM app periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware updated ensures optimal performance and security.

8. Troubleshooting

• Camera Offline:
  • Check Wi-Fi connection: Ensure your router is working and the camera is within Wi-Fi range.
  • Power: Verify the camera battery is charged. If using solar, ensure the panel is receiving adequate sunlight.
  • Restart: Try restarting the camera by pressing the reset button or power cycling it.
• Poor Image Quality:
  • Clean the lens: Dust or smudges on the lens can affect image clarity.
  • Network speed: Ensure your Wi-Fi network has sufficient bandwidth.
• Motion Detection Not Working:
  • Check settings: Verify motion detection is enabled in the app and sensitivity is set appropriately.
  • Activity zones: Ensure the area you want to monitor is within the defined activity zone.
• Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi:
  • 2.4GHz network: The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz network during setup.
  • Password: Double-check your Wi-Fi password.
  • Router distance: Move the camera closer to the router during setup.
