4. Setup Guide

  1. Insert SD Card: Locate the TF Card Slot on the dash cam. Insert the provided 64GB Micro SD card into the slot until it clicks into place. The dash cam supports up to 128GB SD cards.
  2. Clean Windshield: Choose a suitable mounting location on your windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror to avoid obstructing your view. Clean the area thoroughly with a clean cloth to ensure proper adhesion.
  3. Apply Static Sticker: Peel off the protective film from the static sticker and apply it to the cleaned area on your windshield. Smooth out any air bubbles. This protects your windshield and makes removal easier.
  4. Attach Dash Cam: Peel off the protective film from the 3M sticky mount on the dash cam. Carefully align the dash cam with the static sticker and press firmly for a few seconds to secure it.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the Type-C end of the car charger cable to the Type-C port on the dash cam. Route the cable along the edge of your windshield and down to your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Use the provided pry tool to tuck the cable neatly under the trim for a clean installation. Plug the car charger into the cigarette lighter socket.
  6. Power On: Once connected to power, the dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording.
  7. Download & Connect App: Download the "Witcam" smart app from your device's app store (Android or iOS). Enable Wi-Fi on your smartphone and connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (usually named "DC#####" or similar, password typically in the manual). Open the app to view live footage, adjust settings, and manage recordings.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

The dash cam automatically powers on when your vehicle starts and powers off when the vehicle is turned off, provided it is connected to the car charger.

5.2 App Control

After connecting your smartphone to the dash cam via Wi-Fi using the "Witcam" app, you can:

  • View live video footage from the dash cam.
  • Play back recorded videos directly on your phone.
  • Download important video clips to your smartphone's gallery.
  • Adjust various settings such as video resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, and more.

5.3 Voice Broadcast

The dash cam provides intelligent voice announcements for various statuses, including "Recording Start," "Recording Stop," "Storage Full," and "Please connect WiFi." This feature keeps you informed without needing to look at the device.

5.4 Loop Recording

The dash cam continuously records video. When the SD card reaches its storage limit, it automatically overwrites the oldest unlocked video files to make space for new recordings. This ensures uninterrupted recording without manual deletion.

5.5 G-Sensor (Emergency Locking)

The built-in G-sensor detects sudden movements, impacts, or collisions. In such events, the dash cam automatically locks the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. These locked files are stored in a separate "Event" folder as crucial evidence.

5.6 24-Hour Parking Monitor

For continuous surveillance when your vehicle is parked, connect the dash cam to a hardwire kit (sold separately). With the parking monitor enabled, the dash cam will automatically turn on and record if it detects any collision or impact while your car is stationary, providing security and evidence.

6. Maintenance

  • Clean Lens: Regularly clean the dash cam lens with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear video quality. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the lens.
  • Format SD Card: It is recommended to format the SD card every 2-4 weeks to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. This can usually be done through the dash cam's settings menu via the app.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website or app periodically for firmware updates. Keeping your dash cam's firmware up-to-date ensures you have the latest features and bug fixes.
  • Temperature Considerations: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods. The super capacitor design helps it survive extreme weather conditions from -14°F to 149°F.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Solution
Dash cam not powering on.Ensure the car charger is securely plugged into both the dash cam and the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Check if the vehicle's power outlet is functional.
App connectivity issues (shaky connection).Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to the dash cam's network. Try restarting the app and reconnecting. Ensure the dash cam's Wi-Fi is active.
Video quality issues (e.g., blurry, color off).Clean the dash cam lens. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lens. Check video resolution settings in the app; set to 4K for best quality.
SD card full / recording stops. The dash cam uses loop recording, overwriting old files. Ensure important files are locked via the G-sensor or downloaded. Regularly format the SD card to prevent issues. Consider upgrading to a larger SD card (up to 128GB supported).
24-hour parking monitor not working. The 24-hour parking monitor requires a separate hardwire kit for continuous power. Ensure the hardwire kit is correctly installed and connected to your vehicle's battery.
