4.2 Defrosting
This freezer features manual defrost. When ice accumulation becomes excessive (approximately 1/4 inch or 6 mm thick), unplug the unit and allow the ice to melt naturally. Remove food items and place them in another freezer or cooler during defrosting. Wipe the interior dry after defrosting before plugging the unit back in.
5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Freezer does not operate. | Not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped; temperature control set to "OFF". | Ensure plug is secure; reset circuit breaker; adjust temperature control. |
| Temperature is not cold enough. | Door not closed properly; excessive door opening; warm food placed inside; poor ventilation; temperature control set too high. | Check door seal; reduce door openings; allow hot food to cool before storing; ensure proper clearance; adjust temperature control to a colder setting. |
| Freezer makes humming noise. | Normal operation of the compressor. | This is a normal operational sound and not a defect. The sound will cycle on and off as the unit maintains temperature. |
| Excessive ice accumulation. | Frequent door opening; high humidity; manual defrost needed. | Reduce door openings; ensure proper sealing; perform manual defrost as needed. |
