2. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to properly set up your WASSERMANN 61201 submersible utility pump:
- Attach Discharge Hose: Select the appropriate adapter (NPT1-1/2", NPT2", or NPT3/4") for your hose size and securely attach it to the pump's 1-1/2" discharge outlet. Use the provided stainless steel hose clamp to ensure a tight seal.
- Submerge the Pump: Carefully submerge the pump into the water at an angle. This allows any trapped air to escape from the pump housing, ensuring proper priming and operation.
- Connect to Power: Once the pump is fully submerged and air has escaped, plug the 10-foot power cord into a standard 120V electrical outlet. The pump will begin operating immediately.

3. Operating Instructions
The WASSERMANN 61201 pump is designed for straightforward operation. Simply plug it in to turn it on and unplug it to turn it off. Ensure the pump remains submerged in water during operation to prevent damage from running dry.

4. Maintenance

- Remove Intake Screen: Disconnect the pump from power. Use a screwdriver to carefully remove the screws securing the intake screen at the bottom of the pump.
- Clean Impeller and Screen: Clean any debris from the intake screen and the impeller area using a brush or water. Ensure all passages are clear.
- Reassemble: Once cleaned, reattach the intake screen and secure it with the screws.

5. Troubleshooting
If your pump is not operating as expected, consider the following common issues:
- Pump Not Starting: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional 120V outlet. Check for any tripped circuit breakers.
- Low Flow Rate: Inspect the intake screen and impeller for clogs or debris. Ensure the discharge hose is not kinked or obstructed. Verify the pump is fully submerged and air has been purged.
- Pump Running Dry: The pump is not designed to run without water. Ensure the water level is sufficient to keep the pump fully submerged during operation. Running dry can cause damage.
- Unusual Noise: Disconnect power and check for any foreign objects lodged in the impeller area.
