2. Setup
2.1 Package Contents
Before use, please verify that all items are present:

2.2 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover open.
- Insert three (3) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2.3 Attaching the Windscreen
Gently place the foam windscreen over the microphone at the top of the device. The windscreen helps to reduce wind noise and protect the microphone, especially when measuring outdoors.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off
- Press the Power button (
) to turn the device on. - Press and hold the Power button to turn the device off.
- The device features an automatic power-off function after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.

3.2 Understanding the Display
The large 2.25-inch LCD shows the current sound level in dBA, along with other indicators such as MAX/MIN, FAST/SLOW mode, temperature, and battery status.
- Backlight: Press the Data Hold / Backlight button (H/
) briefly to turn the backlight on or off.

3.3 Measurement Modes
- MAX/MIN Mode: Press the MAX/MIN button to cycle through maximum, minimum, and current readings. This allows you to capture peak and lowest noise levels over a period.
- Fast/Slow Time Weighting: Press the F/S button to switch between Fast (125 milliseconds) and Slow (1 second) response times. Fast mode is suitable for capturing sudden noise changes, while Slow mode provides a more averaged reading for stable noise sources.

3.4 Data Hold
Press the Data Hold / Backlight button (H/
) to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold and resume live measurement.
3.5 Temperature Unit Switching
Press the °C/°F button to switch the temperature display between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the casing or display.
4.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in its velvet pouch in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
4.3 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace all three AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements and proper device function. Refer to Section 2.2 for battery installation instructions.

5. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on:
- Check if batteries are installed correctly with the right polarity.
- Replace with new AAA batteries.
- Inaccurate readings:
- Ensure the microphone is not obstructed.
- Verify the windscreen is properly attached.
- Avoid measuring in strong electromagnetic fields.
- Ensure the device is held steady and not subjected to vibrations.
- Display is dim or unreadable:
- Activate the backlight by pressing the Data Hold / Backlight button.
- Replace batteries if the low battery indicator is present.
