3. Setup and Installation
3.1. Installation for Group 1 (9-18 kg)
- Place the car seat on the vehicle seat, ensuring it is facing forward.
- Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated guides on the car seat. Refer to the labels on the car seat for correct belt path.
- Buckle the vehicle's seat belt securely. Ensure there is no slack in the belt and the car seat is firmly installed.
- Adjust the car seat's 5-point harness to fit your child. The shoulder straps should be at or just below your child's shoulders.
- Secure your child in the 5-point harness, ensuring the straps are snug and the chest clip is at armpit level.
3.2. Installation for Group 2/3 (15-36 kg) - Booster Mode
- For children in this weight group, the car seat's internal 5-point harness is no longer used. Store it safely or remove it according to the instructions in the operating section.
- The backrest of the car seat can be removed to convert it into a booster cushion. To do this, follow the instructions for backrest removal in Section 4.2.
- Place the booster seat (or the full car seat with backrest) on the vehicle seat, facing forward.
- Seat your child in the booster.
- Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt across your child and through the red belt guides on the booster seat. The lap belt should sit low on the hips, and the shoulder belt should cross the center of the shoulder.
- Buckle the vehicle's seat belt securely, ensuring it is snug and correctly positioned.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Adjusting the Headrest
The headrest can be adjusted to six different height positions to ensure optimal head and neck support for your growing child.
- Locate the headrest adjustment lever, typically at the top or back of the headrest.
- Squeeze or pull the lever to release the locking mechanism.
- Move the headrest up or down to the desired position. Ensure the shoulder straps of the 5-point harness (if in use) are at or just below your child's shoulders.
- Release the lever to lock the headrest in place. Gently pull on the headrest to confirm it is securely locked.
4.2. Converting to a Booster Seat
For older children (Group 2/3, 15-36 kg), the backrest of the Moni Aston car seat can be removed to create a booster cushion.
- Ensure the car seat is not installed in the vehicle and no child is in it.
- Locate the attachment points or clips connecting the backrest to the seat base. These are usually on the underside or sides of the seat.
- Carefully detach the backrest from the seat base. Refer to any specific diagrams in the full printed manual if available.
- Store the backrest in a safe place for future use, or if you need to revert to the full car seat configuration.
- The remaining seat base can now be used as a booster cushion with the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning the Car Seat
The car seat features a removable cover for easy cleaning.
- Cover: Remove the fabric cover from the car seat. Hand wash with mild soap and cold water, or machine wash on a delicate cycle as per care label instructions. Do not bleach, iron, or tumble dry. Allow to air dry completely before reattaching.
- Harness Straps: Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse in water or machine wash, as this can weaken the webbing.
- Plastic Parts: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Always ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and using the car seat.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Moni Aston car seat, please review the following common points:
- Car Seat Feels Loose: Recheck the vehicle's 3-point seat belt installation. Ensure there is no slack and the belt is routed correctly through all guides. Apply pressure to the car seat while tightening the vehicle belt.
- Harness Not Tightening: Ensure the harness straps are not twisted. Check for any obstructions in the harness adjustment mechanism.
- Headrest Not Adjusting: Verify that the adjustment lever is fully engaged and not obstructed. Ensure no fabric is caught in the mechanism.
- Child Uncomfortable: Check that the headrest is at the correct height and the harness (if in use) is properly adjusted and not too tight or too loose. Ensure the inner cushion is correctly positioned.
If problems persist, consult the full printed manual or contact Moni customer support for assistance.
