Measuring for Installation

Accurate measurement is critical for a proper fit. Lumino blinds are precision-cut to be ½ inch narrower than the ordered width for inside mounts. Please measure carefully:

  1. For Inside Mount:
    • Width: Measure the width of the window frame at the top, middle, and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement.
    • Height: Measure the height of the window frame at the left, center, and right. Record the shortest measurement.
    • Order a blind with the final measurements from steps 1 and 2. The blind will arrive ½" narrower than the ordered width to fit comfortably inside your window casing.
  2. For Outside Mount:
    • Width: Measure the width of the area you want to cover at the top, middle, and bottom. Ensure you have at least 1.5" on the left and right of the window opening (3" total) to avoid light gaps. Record the largest measurement, then add 0.5". This will account for the ½" deduction (see note to the right).
    • Height: Measure the height of the area you want to cover at the left, center, and right. Ensure you have at least 1.5" above the window so there are no light gaps. Record the longest measurement.
    • Order a blind with the final measurements from steps 1 and 2.

Mounting the Blinds

Once measurements are confirmed, proceed with mounting:

  1. Mark the desired location for the mounting brackets using a pencil, ensuring they are level.
  2. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If mounting into drywall, use the provided wall anchors.
  3. Secure the mounting brackets using the provided screws.
  4. Carefully insert the headrail of the blind into the installed brackets, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
  5. Attach the classic valance to the front of the headrail using the pre-built clips. Ensure it snaps firmly into position to conceal the hardware.

Maintenance and Care

To keep your Lumino faux wood blinds looking their best, follow these simple care instructions:

  • Cleaning: Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, a mild soap solution can be used, but avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Dusting: Regularly dust the slats with a soft cloth or duster to prevent buildup.
  • Avoid Excessive Moisture: While the faux wood material is moisture resistant, prolonged exposure to excessive moisture is not recommended.
