5.1 Before You Begin
- Ensure you have all necessary tools: adjustable wrench, plumber's putty or silicone sealant, screwdriver, safety glasses.
- Turn off the main water supply to your bathroom.
- Clear the area under the sink for easy access.
- Verify your sink has 3 holes (or 2 holes with a 4-inch centerset spread) and a maximum base plate thickness of 1.3 inches. Mounting hole diameter should be between 1.25-1.6 inches.
5.2 Faucet Installation Steps
- Prepare the Faucet: Place the rubber gasket and metal base plate onto the bottom of the faucet body. Ensure they are aligned correctly.
- Mount the Faucet: Insert the faucet body through the holes in your sink or countertop. From underneath the sink, secure the faucet using the provided washers and mounting nuts. Tighten firmly but do not overtighten.
- Connect Water Supply Lines: Attach the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the faucet body (typically marked with red for hot and blue for cold). Connect the other ends of the supply lines to your hot and cold water shut-off valves. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten connections, ensuring no leaks.
- Install Pop-up Drain:
- Apply plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the flange of the pop-up drain.
- Insert the drain body into the sink drain hole from above.
- From underneath, secure the drain body with the rubber washer and locking nut. Tighten to create a watertight seal.
- Connect the P-trap to the bottom of the drain assembly.
- Test for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply. Check all connections for leaks. Run both hot and cold water through the faucet for a few minutes to flush out any debris.
