3. Setup and Installation
The BULIST UD01 Keypad Door Lock is designed for easy installation on most standard doors. Follow these steps for proper setup.
3.1 Door Compatibility
The lock fits both right-handed and left-handed doors. Ensure your door thickness is between 1-3/8" to 2-3/4" (35mm-70mm) and the backset is 2-3/8" or 2-3/4" (60mm or 70mm).

- Adjust the Latch: Adjust the length of the latch (backset) to either 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm) to match your door's specifications. Ensure the latch slot is aligned with the door hole center.
- Install the Latch: Insert the adjusted latch into the door edge and secure it with screws. Ensure the "UP" indicator on the latch is facing upwards.
- Install Exterior Assembly: Feed the cable from the exterior keypad assembly through the door hole. Ensure the deadbolt is in the unlock position and physical keys are removed.
- Install Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate to the door, ensuring the paddle is centered in the hole.
- Install Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly. Carefully tuck the wires into the designated space. Mount the interior assembly to the door, ensuring the deadbolt works smoothly.
- Install Batteries: Open the battery cover on the interior assembly. Insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, observing correct polarity. Close the battery cover.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 User Codes and One-time Guest Codes
The lock supports multiple user codes and up to 10 groups of one-time guest codes. One-time codes are automatically deleted after use.

4.2 Backlit Keypad and Anti-peep Code
The keypad features backlighting for visibility in low-light conditions. To enhance security, you can use the anti-peep code function.
- Anti-peep Code: Enter random digits before or after your actual PIN code. This confuses onlookers and protects your code. For example, if your PIN is 0713, you can enter 1357 + 0713 + 2468.

4.3 Human Voice Prompts
The lock provides human voice guidance for various operations and status updates:
- Function Setting: Guides you through programming user codes and other settings.
- Lock Status: Announces "Lock opened" or "Lock closed."
- Low Battery Reminder: Prompts "Low battery, please replace the battery."
- Error Warning: Alerts "Operation failed, please try again."
- Volume Adjustment: The voice volume can be adjusted from 1 to 5 levels.

4.4 Auto-lock and One-touch Locking
- Auto-lock: The lock can be configured to automatically lock after a delay of 10-99 seconds. This feature can be enabled or disabled based on your preference.
- One-touch Locking: Press the lock button on the keypad to instantly lock the door.

In case of battery failure or forgotten codes, the lock can always be opened using the provided physical keys.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Battery Replacement
The lock operates on 4 AA batteries, offering up to 1 year of battery life. A voice prompt will alert you when the battery is low. Replace all four batteries simultaneously with new alkaline batteries.

- Lock is not auto-locking: Check if the auto-lock function is enabled in the settings. Adjust the auto-lock delay time if needed.
