2. Safety Information

Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical tools to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury.

  • Work Area Safety: Keep your work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g., pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerators). Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use hearing protection when operating for extended periods. Dress properly; avoid loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Variable Speed Trigger

The drill features a variable speed trigger. The more you press the trigger, the faster the drill bit will rotate. This allows for precise control, especially when starting a hole or driving screws.

6.2 Forward/Reverse Switch

Located above the trigger, this switch controls the direction of rotation. Push it to the left for forward (drilling/tightening) and to the right for reverse (removing screws/bits). Ensure the switch is in the neutral (middle) position when not in use to prevent accidental starting.

Diagram showing the forward and reverse rotation of the drill, controlled by the switch above the trigger.

Figure 6.1: Forward and Reverse operation of the drill.

6.3 Torque Settings (21+1)

The torque adjustment collar allows you to select from 21 torque settings plus a dedicated drill mode. Lower settings are ideal for driving small screws into soft materials, while higher settings provide more power for larger screws or harder materials. The drill mode bypasses the clutch for maximum power when drilling holes.

6.4 2-Speed Modes

Use the speed selector switch on top of the drill to choose between two speed ranges:

  • Low Speed (0-400 RPM): Recommended for screwdriving and applications requiring higher torque and slower rotation.
  • High Speed (0-1500 RPM): Recommended for drilling and applications requiring faster rotation.

6.5 LED Work Light

The integrated LED light automatically illuminates when the trigger is pressed, providing visibility in dimly lit work areas.

6.6 Flexible Extension Shaft

The included flexible extension shaft allows you to reach screws or drill in tight, awkward spaces where the main drill body cannot fit directly. Simply insert the flexible shaft into the chuck and attach your desired bit to the other end.

7. Maintenance

7.1 General Cleaning

  • Always disconnect the battery pack before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior of the drill. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Clean the ventilation openings regularly to prevent overheating. Use compressed air if necessary.
  • Keep the chuck jaws free of dust and debris to ensure proper bit gripping.

7.2 Battery Care and Storage

  • Store battery packs in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity.
  • Do not store the battery pack connected to the drill.

7.3 Bit Maintenance

  • Keep drill bits and screwdriver bits clean and sharp for optimal performance.
  • Replace worn or damaged bits immediately to prevent injury and ensure efficient work.
