Product Overview

Figure 1: The Vermeiren Goliat XXL Rollator. This image displays the complete rollator, highlighting its robust frame, comfortable padded seat, removable backrest, and the convenient under-seat storage bag. The adjustable handles and multi-function brakes are also visible.
The Goliat XXL Rollator features steerable front wheels for precise and safe maneuvering. It includes two multi-function brakes with a parking function, allowing for secure stops. The comfortable, padded seat and removable backrest provide a convenient resting spot. A spacious bag located under the seat offers ample storage for personal items or shopping.
Setup and Assembly
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in the "Package Contents" section are present.
- Unfolding the Rollator:
- Place the rollator on a flat, stable surface.
- Gently pull the sides of the frame apart until the rollator is fully open and the locking mechanism clicks into place.
- Ensure the seat is securely positioned.
- Adjusting Handle Height:
- Locate the height adjustment pins or buttons on the handle tubes.
- Press the pins/buttons and slide the handles up or down to the desired height.
- Ensure both handles are at the same height and the pins are fully engaged in the adjustment holes. The ideal handle height allows you to stand upright with a slight bend in your elbows when holding the grips.
- Attaching the Backrest: If the backrest is not pre-attached, slide it into the designated slots on the frame behind the seat until it locks securely.
- Attaching the Storage Bag: Place the storage bag under the seat, ensuring it is properly secured to the frame.
Operating Instructions
Using the Brakes
- To Slow Down or Stop: Squeeze both brake levers towards the handles. Release to resume movement.
- To Engage Parking Brake: Push the brake levers down until they click into the locked position. This will lock the wheels, preventing the rollator from moving. Always engage the parking brake when sitting on the seat or when the rollator is stationary.
- To Release Parking Brake: Pull the brake levers up until they release from the locked position.
Walking with the Rollator
- Stand upright between the handles, not behind the rollator.
- Push the rollator slightly forward, then step forward with one foot, followed by the other. Maintain a comfortable pace.
- Use the steerable front wheels to navigate turns smoothly.
Using the Seat
- Before sitting, ensure the parking brakes are fully engaged on both sides.
- Turn around and slowly lower yourself onto the padded seat.
- Use the backrest for support.
- Do not attempt to move the rollator while seated.
Folding for Storage or Transport
- Ensure the storage bag is empty.
- Lift the strap or handle located on the seat to initiate the folding mechanism.
- Push the sides of the frame together until the rollator is in its compact, folded position.
- Secure any folding locks if present.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the frame with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. The seat and backrest can be wiped clean.
- Brakes: Regularly check the brake cables and levers for proper function. If brakes feel loose or do not engage effectively, they may need adjustment by a qualified technician.
- Wheels: Inspect wheels for wear and tear. Remove any debris (hair, lint, etc.) that may accumulate around the axles.
- Fasteners: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and fasteners to ensure they are tight. Do not overtighten.
- Storage: Store the rollator in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
