Operating Your VOCOlinc Tag

1. Finding Nearby Items

When your VOCOlinc Tag is within Bluetooth range (up to 200ft/60m), you can use the Find My app to locate it. The tag features a built-in speaker that emits a loud sound (80-100 dB) to help you pinpoint its exact location. You can also ask Siri for assistance.

2. Finding Far Away Items (Find My Network)

If your item is outside the Bluetooth range of your iOS device, the extensive Apple Find My network can help. Hundreds of millions of iOS devices worldwide anonymously and securely relay the location of your VOCOlinc Tag, allowing you to see its last known location on a map in the Find My app.

3. Left Behind Remind and Lost Mode

The Find My app can notify you if you leave an item with a VOCOlinc Tag behind. If the tag disconnects from your iOS device's Bluetooth, you will receive an instant notification. In Lost Mode, you can display your contact information to anyone who finds your tag, which they can access via NFC.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

The VOCOlinc Tag uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery. When the battery level is low, the Find My app will notify you. To replace the battery:

  1. Locate the small groove on the side of the tag.
  2. Carefully pry open the tag using a small, flat tool (e.g., a coin or a small screwdriver).
  3. Remove the old CR2032 battery.
  4. Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Align the two halves of the tag and press firmly until it clicks securely into place.

The VOCOlinc Tag is IP65 water-resistant, meaning it is protected against dust and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or light rain, but it should not be submerged in water.

3. Cleaning

To clean your VOCOlinc Tag, wipe it with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting

  • Tag not pairing: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your iOS device and the Find My app is open. Press and hold the tag's button for 10 seconds to reset it before attempting to pair again. Make sure your iOS device is updated to the latest version.
  • No sound from tag: Check the battery level in the Find My app. If low, replace the CR2032 battery. Ensure the tag is within Bluetooth range of your device or another device on the Find My network.
  • Inaccurate location: Location accuracy depends on the density of the Find My network and GPS availability. In areas with fewer iOS devices or poor GPS signal, location might be less precise.
  • Left Behind Remind not working: Verify that 'Left Behind Notifications' are enabled for your VOCOlinc Tag in the Find My app settings. Ensure your iOS device has a stable connection.
