7. Operating Instructions

Once the BAKON BK906 handle is securely connected to your BAKON 90/881 soldering station, operate the station according to its specific user manual. The handle itself does not have controls; all temperature settings and power management are handled by the soldering station.

  1. Power On: Plug in the soldering station and turn on its power switch.
  2. Set Temperature: Use the controls on your soldering station to set the desired temperature for your soldering task. The ceramic heating core in the BK906 handle will rapidly reach the set temperature.
  3. Pre-tinning: Before first use or after cleaning, pre-tin the soldering tip with a small amount of solder to ensure efficient heat transfer and prevent oxidation.
  4. Soldering: Apply the heated tip to the joint to be soldered, then feed solder onto the joint. Ensure proper wetting and flow of the solder.
  5. Return to Stand: Always return the soldering iron to its stand when not actively soldering.
  6. Power Off: When finished, turn off the soldering station and unplug it. Allow the handle and tip to cool completely before storage.

  • Handle Cleaning: Wipe the handle with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the silicone material.
  • Tip Replacement: Replace soldering tips when they become excessively worn or corroded to ensure consistent performance. Ensure the station is cool and unplugged before changing tips.
  • Storage: Store the soldering iron handle and station in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.
