Safety Information
- Always ensure the cargo box is securely mounted to your vehicle's roof rack system before driving.
- Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 110 lbs (50 kg) for the cargo box or your vehicle's roof load limit, whichever is lower.
- Distribute cargo evenly inside the box, placing heavier items towards the center.
- Verify that all locking points are engaged and the Thule Comfort Key can be removed, indicating secure closure.
- Be aware of the increased vehicle height and width when the cargo box is installed, especially when entering garages, car washes, or low-clearance areas.
- Adjust driving speed to suit road conditions, especially in strong winds, during braking, or when cornering.
- Regularly check the mounting hardware for tightness, especially after the first few miles of driving and periodically thereafter.

Installation Steps
- Position the Cargo Box: Carefully lift the cargo box onto your vehicle's roof rack crossbars. Center the box both front-to-back and side-to-side.
- Open the Lid: Open the lid of the cargo box from the passenger side. The internal lid lifters will hold the lid open for hands-free access.
- Attach Easy-Grip Knobs: Locate the Easy-Grip mounting knobs inside the box. Align the mounting hardware with your crossbars. Turn the knobs clockwise to tighten the clamps around the crossbars. Ensure the clamps are securely gripping the crossbars.
- Verify Security: After tightening all knobs, gently try to move the cargo box to ensure it is firmly attached and does not wobble.
- Check Clearance: Before driving, verify that there is adequate clearance between the cargo box and any part of your vehicle, especially the rear hatch when opened. Refer to the "Roof Box Hatch Door Clearance" section for detailed information.

Figure 3: Roof Box Hatch Door Clearance. This diagram illustrates how to determine the correct positioning of the cargo box to ensure the vehicle's rear hatch can open without contacting the box. It highlights the importance of measuring front clearance from the center of the vehicle's front roof rack crossbar to the point where the roof meets the hatch.
