Setup
1. Charging the Battery
The battery pack is not fully charged upon purchase. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before first use.
- Connect the fast charger to a standard power outlet.
- Slide the 12V Li-ion battery pack onto the charger until it clicks into place.
- Allow approximately 60 minutes for a full charge. The charger indicator light will show the charging status.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the power outlet and remove the battery pack.
2. Installing and Removing the Battery
- To Install: Align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
- To Remove: Press the Battery Release Button located at the front of the battery pack and slide the battery out.
3. Installing and Removing Drill Bits/Screwdriver Bits
This drill features a 3/8" keyless chuck for easy bit changes.
- Ensure the drill is switched off and the forward/reverse switch is in the center (locked) position to prevent accidental starting.
- Rotate the chuck collar counter-clockwise to open the chuck jaws.
- Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck, ensuring it is centered.
- Rotate the chuck collar clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. Hand-tighten only; do not use tools to tighten the chuck.
- To remove a bit, rotate the chuck collar counter-clockwise and pull the bit out.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Variable Speed Control
- To start the drill, press the Variable Speed Switch (trigger).
- The drill speed is controlled by the amount of pressure applied to the trigger. Pressing lightly results in lower speed, while pressing fully increases the speed.
- To stop the drill, release the trigger.
2. Forward/Reverse Switch
The Forward/Reverse Button controls the direction of rotation and also acts as a lock-off switch.

Image Description: This image illustrates the three positions of the Forward/Reverse switch: Forward (for drilling/driving screws in), Lock (center position, prevents accidental activation), and Reverse (for removing screws or backing out bits).
- Forward Rotation: Push the switch to the left (when viewed from the rear of the drill) for clockwise rotation, used for drilling and driving screws.
- Reverse Rotation: Push the switch to the right for counter-clockwise rotation, used for removing screws or backing out bits.
- Lock-Off: When the switch is in the center position, the trigger is locked, preventing accidental operation. Always engage the lock-off when not in use or when changing bits.
3. Torque Setting (18+1 Positions)
The torque adjustment ring allows you to select the appropriate torque for your task, preventing overtightening or stripping screws.

Image Description: This image highlights the 18+1 torque setting ring on the drill, showing numbers from 1 to 18 for various screwdriving applications, and a drill icon for drilling mode. It also shows the 3-jaw chuck.
- Rotate the torque adjustment ring to select a setting from 1 to 18. Lower numbers are for smaller screws and softer materials, while higher numbers are for larger screws and harder materials.
- The drill icon setting bypasses the clutch and provides maximum torque for drilling applications.
- The maximum torque is 277 in-lbs (31 Nm).
4. 2-Speed Transmission
The drill features a 2-speed gearbox for optimal performance across different tasks.

Image Description: This image illustrates the two-speed transmission settings. The "Drilling" mode operates at 0-1500 RPM for higher speed applications, while the "Screw Driving" mode operates at 0-450 RPM for lower speed and higher torque tasks. A switch on top of the drill changes between these modes.
- Speed 1 (0-450 RPM): Use for screwdriving applications or when higher torque is required. This speed provides more control and reduces the risk of stripping screws.
- Speed 2 (0-1500 RPM): Use for drilling holes, especially in wood or softer materials, where higher speed is beneficial.
- To change speeds, slide the gear selector switch located on top of the drill. Ensure the drill is stopped before changing speeds.
5. LED Work Light
The integrated LED light automatically illuminates when the trigger is pressed, providing better visibility in dimly lit work areas. It turns off shortly after the trigger is released.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
- Always disconnect the battery pack before cleaning.
- Keep the ventilation openings of the tool clean to prevent overheating.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the tool. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping of bits.
2. Storage
- Store the drill and battery pack in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) before long-term storage.
- Store the tool in its original carrying case or a suitable storage container to protect it from dust and damage.
3. Battery Care
- Do not expose battery packs to water or extreme temperatures.
- Do not store battery packs in places where the temperature may reach or exceed 50°C (122°F).
- If the battery pack is not used for extended periods, recharge it every 3-6 months to maintain its lifespan.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Drill does not start. | Battery not charged or improperly installed. Forward/Reverse switch in lock position. | Ensure battery is fully charged and correctly inserted. Move F/R switch out of the center lock position. |
| Reduced power or speed. | Low battery charge. Incorrect speed setting for the task. | Recharge the battery. Switch to Speed 2 for drilling or Speed 1 for higher torque screwdriving. |
| Bit slips in chuck. | Chuck not tightened sufficiently. Bit shank is dirty or damaged. | Ensure chuck is hand-tightened firmly. Clean or replace the bit. |
| Overheating during use. | Continuous heavy use. Blocked ventilation slots. | Allow the tool to cool down. Clear any obstructions from ventilation slots. Avoid prolonged heavy-duty operation. |
