3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Yeedi Cube for first use:

  1. Install the Cube Station: Place the Cube Station against a wall on a hard, flat surface. Ensure there is at least 0.5m clearance on both sides and 1m in front. Connect the power cord.
  2. Prepare the Robot: Remove all protective films and packaging materials from the robot. Install the side brushes (red to red, green to green).
  3. Fill the UFO Water Tank: Take down the UFO water tank from the robot, fill it with clean water, and securely cap the plug. Reinsert the tank into the robot.
  4. Download and Connect to the App: Download the Yeedi app from your smartphone's app store. Place the robot near the Cube Station, switch the power button to 'I' (On), and scan the QR code under the UFO water tank to connect.
  5. Initial Charge: Press the HOME button on the robot or in the app to send the robot back to the Cube Station for its initial charge. Allow 6.5 hours for a full charge.

4. Key Features

4.1 Self-Emptying, Self-Washing, and Hot Air Drying

The Cube Station provides hands-free maintenance by automatically emptying the robot's dustbin, washing the mop pads, and drying them with hot air to prevent odors and mildew. The station features a 1.2-liter dirty water tank and a dust bag for collected debris.

4.2 Sonic Mopping and Auto Mop Lifting

The sonic mopping feature vibrates the mop pad 2500 times per minute to effectively scrub and remove stains from hard floors. The 8mm auto mop lifting function automatically raises the mop pads when carpets are detected, preventing them from getting wet during mopping cycles.

4.3 Smart Mapping and Obstacle Avoidance

The robot uses V-SLAM technology with a top-mounted camera and optical sensor for efficient navigation and mapping. It can save multiple maps for different floors and allows users to set virtual boundaries, no-go zones, and no-mop zones via the app. An IR sensor aids in obstacle avoidance.

5. Operation

Once fully charged, press the CLEAN button on the robot or initiate a cleaning cycle through the Yeedi app. The robot will follow a straight back-and-forth pattern for efficient cleaning. You can customize cleaning modes (vacuum only, mop only, vacuum & mop) and suction/water flow levels via the app. The app also allows for scheduling and setting specific cleaning areas.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Yeedi Cube:

  • Emptying the Dirty Water Tank: Regularly remove and empty the dirty water tank from the Cube Station.
  • Replacing the Dust Bag: The dust bag in the Cube Station should be replaced approximately every two months, depending on usage.
  • Cleaning the Mop Pad: The mop pad is automatically washed by the station. Ensure the station's scrubber is clean.
  • Cleaning Brushes and Filters: Periodically remove and clean the side brushes and the main brush roller. The dustbin filter should also be cleaned regularly.
  • Cleaning the Detachable Base: The one-piece detachable base of the Cube Station can be easily removed and rinsed to clean any dirty residue.

7. Troubleshooting

Common issues and solutions:

  • Small Water Tank Capacity: The 1-liter clean water tank and 1.2-liter dirty water tank may require more frequent refilling/emptying for larger homes.
  • Sticky Residue: The robot may struggle with very sticky stains. Pre-cleaning heavily soiled areas is recommended.
  • Low Airflow/Deep Cleaning: The vacuum's airflow is lower compared to some premium models, which might affect deep cleaning performance on thick carpets.
  • Side Brush Scattering: The fast-spinning side brushes can sometimes scatter larger debris. Running multiple passes may be necessary.
  • Hair Wrapping: Hair may wrap around the main brush roll and axles. Regular cleaning of these components is essential.
  • Noise Level: The robot can be noisy, especially during self-emptying (over 85 dB) and max vacuum mode (up to 75.5 dB).
  • Obstacle Avoidance: The IR sensor is effective, but the lack of laser sensors means it may get too close to small objects like wires or pet waste. Clear such items from the cleaning path.
  • App Limitations: The app currently saves only one map at a time, and backing up a new map will overwrite the previous one. It also lacks a dedicated mapping run feature.
