1. Introduction

This advanced, non-invasive device is designed to accurately detect moisture content in various materials such as walls, floors, wood, and concrete without causing any damage. 5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

The MT68 requires 3 AAA batteries (included). To install:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device (refer to Figure 3).
2. Slide open the battery cover.
3. Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off and Auto Calibration

Press the Power button to turn the device on. The device will perform an auto-calibration. During calibration, keep the machine away from your body and any objects to ensure accurate initial readings.

The device will automatically shut off after 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6.2. Taking Measurements (Pinless Mode)

The MT68 uses a pinless ball sensor for non-invasive measurements. To take a reading:

1. Place the spherical probe firmly against the surface you wish to measure.
2. Ensure the probe is in full contact with the material.
3. The moisture reading will appear instantly on the large LCD display.
4. The device can detect moisture up to 40mm (1.57") deep. For best accuracy, the measured material thickness should be greater than 20-40mm.

6.3. Understanding Readings and Alerts

The large LCD display provides clear digital readings. The tri-color LED indicators and audible beeps provide quick visual and auditory feedback on moisture levels:

• Green LED: Indicates dry conditions.
• Yellow LED: Indicates risk of moisture.
• Red LED: Indicates wet conditions, often accompanied by a faster beep.

6.4. Setting Alarm Thresholds

You can set custom moisture thresholds for different materials. Refer to the table below for recommended values:

Use the 'SET' button and UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the alarm threshold according to the material being tested.

• Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
