1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Sharp SPC5026AMZ Digital Alarm Clock. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper function and longevity.

2. Package Contents

Verify that all items are present in the package:

Note: 3 x AAA batteries are required for operation and are not included in the package.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the clock.
  2. Remove the cover by sliding it downwards or lifting it.
  3. Insert three (3) new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

The clock will power on automatically after battery installation.

4. Operating Instructions

Refer to Figure 2 for button locations on the back of the clock.

4.1 Setting Time and Date

  1. Slide the ALARM / DATE / TIME SETTING SWITCH to the TIME position.
  2. Press the HOUR / MONTH SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the hour.
  3. Press the MIN / DATE / °C/°F SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the minute.
  4. Press the 12/24 HR TIME YEAR SELECTION BUTTON to toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour format.
  5. Slide the ALARM / DATE / TIME SETTING SWITCH to the DATE position.
  6. Press the HOUR / MONTH SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the month.
  7. Press the MIN / DATE / °C/°F SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the date.
  8. Press the 12/24 HR TIME YEAR SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the year.
  9. Once time and date are set, slide the ALARM / DATE / TIME SETTING SWITCH back to the RUN position.

4.2 Setting the Alarm

  1. Slide the ALARM / DATE / TIME SETTING SWITCH to the ALARM position.
  2. Press the HOUR / MONTH SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the alarm hour.
  3. Press the MIN / DATE / °C/°F SELECTION BUTTON to adjust the alarm minute.
  4. Slide the ALARM ON/OFF SWITCH to ON to activate the alarm. An alarm icon will appear on the display.
  5. To deactivate the alarm, slide the ALARM ON/OFF SWITCH to OFF. The alarm icon will disappear.
  6. Once the alarm is set, slide the ALARM / DATE / TIME SETTING SWITCH back to the RUN position.

4.3 Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE / LIGHT button on the top of the clock. The alarm will pause for approximately 9 minutes before sounding again.

4.4 Nightlight and Backlight

The clock features two illumination options:

  • Built-in Display Nightlight: Slide the LOW LIGHT NIGHTTIME VIEWING BACKLIGHT ON/OFF SWITCH on the back of the clock to ON for a continuous, low-level illumination of the display. Slide to OFF to disable.
  • On-Demand White Backlight: Press the large SNOOZE / LIGHT button on the top of the clock for 5 seconds of bright white backlight. This is useful for quick viewing in dark conditions.

4.5 Temperature Display

The clock displays the indoor temperature in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F). To switch between units, press the MIN / DATE / °C/°F SELECTION BUTTON while the ALARM / DATE / TIME SETTING SWITCH is in the RUN position.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface.

6.2 Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the display becomes dim or the clock functions erratically. Always replace all three batteries simultaneously with new AAA batteries. Remove batteries if the clock will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
