3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials. Ensure no parts are missing or damaged. Keep packaging materials away from children. Remove any protective films or tapes from the appliance surfaces.
3.2 Placement
Place the refrigerator on a flat, stable surface strong enough to support the unit when fully loaded. Allow at least 10 cm (4 inches) of space around the back and sides of the unit for proper ventilation. Avoid placing the appliance in direct sunlight or near heat sources like ovens or radiators, as this can affect cooling performance and energy efficiency.

Figure 1: Product dimensions for placement consideration. The unit measures 44.8 cm in depth, 44 cm in width, and 52.8 cm in height.
3.3 Initial Power-On
After placing the unit, wait for at least 2-4 hours before plugging it into a power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle. Plug the appliance into a dedicated 220V electrical outlet (Type F - 2-pin, German plug). The internal temperature will gradually decrease to the factory preset.
3.4 Door Hinge Reversal
The door hinge is set to the right by default. If you need to reverse the door swing, please consult a qualified technician or refer to the detailed instructions provided in the full technical manual (not included in this summary) to avoid damaging the unit or voiding the warranty.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel
The Kalamera KRC-40GE features a touch control panel located on the exterior of the glass door. This allows for easy temperature adjustments without opening the door.

4.2 Setting the Temperature
Use the up and down arrows on the touch panel to set your desired temperature. The temperature can be precisely adjusted within a range of 5 °C to 18 °C (41 °F to 64 °F). The current temperature setting will be displayed on the panel.
4.3 Internal LED Lighting
The appliance is equipped with blue LED internal lighting. This light can be switched on or off independently using a dedicated button on the touch control panel. The LED lighting enhances visibility of stored items and adds to the aesthetic appeal.

4.4 Loading the Refrigerator
The 40-liter capacity refrigerator includes 3 chrome wire shelves. These shelves are designed to organize various sizes of bottles and cans, such as beer, cola, wine, champagne, or soft drinks. Ensure proper air circulation by not overloading the shelves or blocking the internal fan.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Interior
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning. Wash the interior surfaces with a solution of warm water and baking soda (2 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 liter of water). Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they may damage the interior finish.
5.2 Cleaning the Exterior
Clean the exterior with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent and water. For the stainless steel glass door, use a glass cleaner or a stainless steel cleaner. Ensure no water enters the control panel area. Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth.
5.3 Defrosting
This appliance features an automatic defrost system. Frost buildup on the evaporator will automatically melt and drain into a drip tray at the back of the unit, where it evaporates. No manual defrosting is required under normal operating conditions.
5.4 Power Failure
Most power failures are corrected within a few hours and should not affect the temperature of your appliance if you minimize the number of times the door is opened. If the power is off for a longer period, take steps to protect your contents.
5.5 Vacation Time
For short vacations, leave the appliance operating. For long absences, remove all contents, unplug the appliance, clean it, and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent odor and mold formation.
6. Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer service, please check the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Appliance does not operate | Not plugged in; circuit breaker tripped; temperature set too high. | Ensure plug is secure; reset circuit breaker; set temperature lower. |
| Temperature is not cold enough | Door opened too frequently; door not closed properly; warm items placed inside; poor ventilation. | Minimize door openings; check door seal; allow warm items to cool before placing; ensure adequate clearance around unit. |
| Excessive noise | Appliance not level; vibrating against wall/cabinet; normal compressor operation. | Adjust leveling feet; move appliance away from contact surfaces; compressor noise is normal. |
| Moisture buildup inside | High humidity; door opened too frequently; door seal not tight. | This is normal in humid conditions; minimize door openings; check and clean door gasket. |
