2. Mounting Location

Choose a central location on the ceiling, away from corners, vents, and sources of steam or smoke (e.g., kitchen, bathroom). Avoid placing it in dead air spaces. For optimal coverage, ensure the detector is within 20-50 square meters of the area to be monitored.

3. Installation

  1. Attach the mounting bracket to the desired ceiling location using the provided screws and anchor bolts.
  2. Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist it clockwise until it clicks securely into place.
  3. After installation, the LED indicator should flash approximately every 53 seconds, confirming the device is active.

4. App Pairing and Network Connection

The detector connects via WiFi and Bluetooth for fast setup and real-time notifications through a compatible smart home application (e.g., Tuya Smart app).

  1. Download and install the recommended smart home application (e.g., Tuya Smart) on your iOS or Android device.
  2. Open the app and create an account or log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The app will typically guide you through connecting the smoke detector to your home WiFi network using Bluetooth for initial pairing.
  4. Ensure your smartphone is close to the smoke detector and your WiFi network is active during the pairing process.

Maintenance

Testing the Detector

Test your smoke detector weekly to ensure it is functioning correctly. Press and hold the test button on the device until the alarm sounds. The alarm should be loud and clear. If the alarm does not sound, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

Cleaning the Detector

Dust and debris can accumulate on the smoke detector, potentially affecting its performance. Clean the detector at least once a month:

Battery Replacement

The CR123A lithium battery has an estimated life of 5 years. Replace the battery immediately when the low battery warning is indicated.

  1. Twist the smoke detector counter-clockwise to remove it from its mounting bracket.
  2. Open the battery compartment.
  3. Remove the old CR123A battery and dispose of it according to local regulations.
  4. Insert a new CR123A lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Close the battery compartment and reattach the detector to its mounting bracket by twisting clockwise until secure.
  6. Test the detector after battery replacement.
