Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the iron from its packaging. Remove any protective films, stickers, or labels from the soleplate or body of the iron. Retain the packaging for storage or future transport.
2. First Use Preparation
Before first use, it is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric (e.g., a cotton cloth) to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate. This prevents staining your garments.
3. Filling the Water Tank
- Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Open the water tank filler cap.
- Fill the water tank with clean tap water up to the 'MAX' mark. Do not overfill.
- Close the filler cap securely.
For optimal performance and to prolong the life of your iron, especially in areas with hard water, consider using a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water. Do not use perfumed water, water from tumble dryers, or chemically descaled water.
Operating Instructions
1. Power Connection and Temperature Setting
- Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet (210 Volts, 2600 Watts).
- Turn the temperature dial to the desired setting according to the fabric type. Refer to the garment's care label for recommended ironing temperatures.
- The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating up. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached.
2. Steam Ironing
Steam ironing is suitable for most fabrics, except those marked with a 'do not steam' symbol. Ensure the water tank is filled.
- Set the temperature dial to a steam-appropriate setting (usually between two and three dots on the dial).
- Once the indicator light turns off, indicating the iron is hot enough, you can activate steam.
- Use the steam slider for continuous steam or press the steam shot button for an extra burst of steam to remove stubborn creases.

3. Dry Ironing
For dry ironing, ensure the steam slider is set to the 'no steam' position and the water tank is empty or the steam function is not activated. Set the temperature according to the fabric type.
4. Vertical Steaming
The iron can be used for vertical steaming of hanging garments or curtains. Hold the iron vertically a few centimeters away from the fabric and press the steam shot button repeatedly.
5. 3-Mode Auto Shutdown
For safety and energy saving, the iron features a 3-mode auto shutdown function:
- If left motionless on its soleplate for 30 seconds, it will automatically shut off.
- If left motionless on its side for 30 seconds, it will automatically shut off.
- If left motionless on its heel rest for 8 minutes, it will automatically shut off.
To restart the iron after auto shutdown, simply move it. The iron will reheat to the set temperature.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your iron.
1. Self-Cleaning Function
The self-cleaning function helps remove scale and impurities from the steam chamber. Perform this function monthly or more frequently if you use the iron often or live in a hard water area.
- Fill the water tank to the MAX level.
- Set the temperature dial to the maximum setting.
- Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off.
- Unplug the iron.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the self-clean button (refer to your iron's markings for its location). Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying impurities.
- Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
- Plug the iron back in and let it heat up to dry the soleplate.
- Unplug and store once cooled.
2. Antilime Function (Anti-Calc)
The integrated Antilime function helps reduce the build-up of limescale, contributing to consistent steam performance. This system is permanent and does not require manual activation.
3. Cleaning the Soleplate
- Allow the iron to cool completely.
- Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
- Do not use abrasive scourers or chemical cleaners as they can damage the Soleil soleplate.
4. Storage
After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Store the iron upright on its heel rest in a dry, safe place.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet fault; auto shutdown activated. | Check plug and outlet; move iron to reactivate auto shutdown. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low; steam vents blocked. | Fill water tank; set higher temperature; perform self-cleaning. |
| Water leaks from soleplate. | Temperature too low for steam; water tank overfilled; anti-drip system issue. | Increase temperature; do not overfill; perform self-cleaning. |
| White flakes or brown stains on garments. | Limescale build-up; impurities in water. | Perform self-cleaning; use distilled water or 50/50 mix. |
