Setup Instructions

1. Connecting the Docking Station to Your Laptop

  1. Ensure your laptop has a USB-C port that supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and power delivery.
  2. Connect the integrated USB-C cable from the docking station to your laptop's USB-C port.
  3. For power delivery, connect your laptop's original USB-C power adapter to the PD (Power Delivery) port on the docking station. The docking station will then pass through up to 85W of power to your laptop.

2. Connecting External Displays

The docking station supports up to three external displays. Connect your monitors using HDMI and/or VGA cables to the corresponding ports on the docking station.

  • HDMI 1 & HDMI 2: For high-definition digital video and audio.
  • VGA: For analog video output.

3. Connecting USB Peripherals

Connect your USB devices such as keyboards, mice, external hard drives, or USB flash drives to the available USB-A ports.

  • USB 3.0 Port (Blue): For devices requiring higher data transfer speeds (up to 5Gbps).
  • USB 2.0 Ports (Black): Recommended for connecting low-bandwidth devices like keyboards and mice (up to 480Mbps).

Operating Instructions

Display Configuration (Windows)

Windows operating systems support both Mirror (AAAA) and Extended (ABBB and ABBC) display modes.

  • Mirror Mode (AAAA): All connected displays show the same content as your laptop screen.
  • Extended Mode (ABBC): Each connected display can show different content, extending your desktop workspace.

To configure display settings in Windows:

  1. Right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings".
  2. Identify your displays and choose your preferred display mode (Extend these displays, Duplicate these displays).
  3. Adjust resolution and orientation as needed.

Display Configuration (macOS)

Due to macOS limitations, only Mirror Mode (SST) is supported, meaning all connected displays will show the same content as your MacBook screen.

To configure display settings in macOS:

  1. Go to "System Settings" (or "System Preferences") > "Displays".
  2. Arrange your displays and select "Mirror Displays" if desired.

Power Delivery Functionality

The USB-C PD port is designed for charging your laptop. Connect your laptop's power adapter to this port. The docking station will consume approximately 15W for its operation, delivering up to 85W to your laptop from a 100W input charger.

Maintenance

  • Keep the docking station away from water, fire, and corrosive liquids.
  • Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
  • Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaners.
  • Store in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

Issue: No display or flickering display on external monitors.
  • Ensure your laptop's USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode. Not all USB-C ports support video output.
  • Check all cable connections (USB-C to laptop, HDMI/VGA to monitors). Disconnect and reconnect firmly.
  • Try connecting one monitor at a time to isolate the issue.
  • Update your laptop's graphics drivers.
  • For macOS users, remember that only Mirror Mode (SST) is supported for triple displays. Extended mode functionality may be limited to fewer external monitors depending on your specific macOS version and hardware.
  • Reduce the resolution of external monitors if experiencing instability, especially with multiple displays.
Issue: USB devices are not recognized or function slowly.
  • Ensure the docking station is properly connected to your laptop.
  • Avoid connecting high-power-consumption devices to the USB 2.0 ports. Use the USB 3.0 port for such devices.
  • If using 2.4GHz wireless mouse/keyboard, connect them to the USB 2.0 ports, but be aware that some wireless devices may experience interference.
  • Try connecting the USB device directly to your laptop to confirm it functions independently.
Issue: Laptop is not charging via the PD port.
  • Ensure your power adapter is connected to the PD port on the docking station and is functioning correctly.
  • Verify that your laptop supports charging via its USB-C port.
  • Confirm your power adapter provides sufficient wattage (e.g., 100W input for 85W output).
Issue: SD/TF cards are not detected.
  • Ensure the card is fully inserted into the correct slot.
  • Try the card in another device to confirm it is not corrupted.
  • Restart your laptop and reconnect the docking station.
