Operating Instructions
Jump Starting a Vehicle
The JS1500 is designed to jump start 12V lead-acid batteries in vehicles with up to 6.5L gasoline engines or 4.0L diesel engines.
- Connect the Clamps: Ensure the JS1500 is sufficiently charged. Connect the red (+) clamp to the positive terminal of the vehicle battery and the black (-) clamp to the negative terminal of the vehicle battery. Ensure a secure connection.
- Check Indicator Light: Observe the indicator light on the smart clamp cable. If the light is solid green, proceed to Step 3. If the light does not turn on, or if it flashes red, ensure connections are correct and the battery is not severely damaged. If needed, press and hold the BOOST button on the smart clamp cable for approximately 3 seconds until the light turns solid green.
- Start the Engine: Once the indicator light is solid green, start your car engine.
- Disconnect Clamps: As soon as the engine starts, disconnect the clamps from the vehicle battery within 30 seconds. First, remove the black (-) clamp, then the red (+) clamp.
