Setup and First Use

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the burner from its packaging. Retain packaging for storage or shipping if needed.
  2. Placement: Place the burner on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the burner with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the unit in water.
  4. First Use Burn-Off: Before cooking, operate the burner on its highest setting for approximately 5-10 minutes without any cookware. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and odors. A small amount of smoke or odor is normal during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
  5. Power Connection: Ensure the variable heat control knobs are in the "OFF" position before plugging the unit into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Toastmaster Double Coil Burner is designed for easy operation. Each burner has its own independent heat control.

  2. Select Heat Setting: Turn the corresponding variable heat control knob clockwise from "OFF" to your desired heat setting. The settings typically range from low to high.
  3. Indicator Light: The power indicator light will illuminate when the burner is active. It may cycle on and off during operation as the burner maintains the selected temperature.
  4. Adjust Heat: Adjust the knob as needed to achieve the desired cooking temperature. Lower settings are suitable for simmering, while higher settings are for boiling or searing.
  5. Finish Cooking: Once cooking is complete, turn the heat control knob counter-clockwise back to the "OFF" position. The indicator light will turn off.
  6. Cool Down: Allow the burner to cool completely before cleaning or storing. The coils will remain hot for some time after being turned off.

Care and Maintenance

Proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your Toastmaster Double Coil Burner.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always ensure the burner is unplugged from the electrical outlet and has cooled down completely.
  2. Cleaning Coils: The hinged coils can be lifted for easier access to the drip shields. Wipe the coils with a damp cloth. For stubborn food residue, a non-abrasive scrubber can be used gently. Ensure coils are dry before lowering them.
  3. Cleaning Drip Shields: The drip shields are designed to catch spills. Remove them and wash with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before replacing.
  4. Cleaning Exterior: Wipe the exterior surface of the burner with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the finish.
  5. Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
  6. Storage: Store the appliance in a cool, dry place when not in use.
