Setup
Follow these steps to set up your portable air conditioner:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the unit and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
- Positioning: Place the air conditioner on a flat, stable surface. Ensure there is at least 30 cm (12 inches) of space around the unit for proper airflow. Do not place it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Exhaust Hose Installation: Attach one end of the exhaust hose to the air outlet on the rear of the unit. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Window Kit Installation: Extend the other end of the exhaust hose to a window. Install the window sealing kit (if included) to create a sealed opening for the hose, preventing hot air from re-entering the room.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet meets the specified voltage requirements (230 V ~ 50 Hz).
Operating Instructions
Control Panel and Remote Control
The unit can be operated via the control panel on top of the unit or the included remote control. Both offer similar functionalities.
Operating Modes
Press the 'MODE' button to cycle through the available operating modes:
- Cooling Mode (Frío): This mode provides cooling. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set your desired temperature between 16°C and 32°C.
- Fan Mode (Ventilación): In this mode, the unit circulates air without cooling. Press the 'SPEED' button to select one of the three available fan speeds.
- Dehumidification Mode (Deshumidificación): This mode removes excess moisture from the air. The unit has a dehumidification capacity of 60 liters/day. The fan speed is typically fixed in this mode.
Timer Function
The timer function allows you to set the unit to automatically turn on or off after a specified period, up to 24 hours. Press the 'TIMER' button and use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the desired time.
Temperature Unit Selection
You can switch the temperature display between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) using the appropriate button on the control panel or remote control.
Maintenance
Draining Water
The unit collects condensation during operation, especially in dehumidification mode. It features a full tank indicator. When the tank is full, the unit will stop operating. Connect a drainage hose to the drainage port at the rear of the unit to empty the water. Ensure the unit is turned off and unplugged before draining.
Cleaning Air Filters
For optimal performance and air quality, regularly clean the air filters (approximately every two weeks, or more often depending on usage). Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filters, wash them with lukewarm water and mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow them to air dry completely before reinserting.
Storage
Before storing the unit for an extended period, ensure all water is drained, and the filters are clean and dry. Unplug the unit and coil the power cord. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your air conditioner, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.
| Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Unit does not turn on. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check the circuit breaker or fuse. Ensure the water tank is not full. |
| Unit is not cooling effectively. | Ensure windows and doors are closed. Check if the exhaust hose is properly installed and not kinked. Clean the air filters. The room size might be too large for the unit's capacity. |
| Water leakage from the unit. | Check if the drainage cap is securely closed. Ensure the unit is placed on a level surface. If using continuous drainage, check the hose for blockages. |
| Noisy operation. | Ensure the unit is on a stable, flat surface. Check for any obstructions around the air inlet/outlet. This is normal during compressor operation. |
| Remote control not working. | Check and replace batteries. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the unit's receiver. |
