2.2 Connecting Your Amplifier

  1. Connect Speakers: Connect your passive bookshelf or tower speakers to the speaker output terminals on the rear panel. Ensure correct polarity (red to red, black to black). The V3 supports 2-8Ω speakers.
  2. Connect Audio Source: Use RCA cables to connect your audio source (e.g., CD player, DAC, streamer) to the "LINE IN" RCA inputs on the rear panel.
  3. Optional Pre-out Connection: If using an external subwoofer or another amplifier, connect it to the "PRE-OUT" RCA outputs. The pre-out level is controlled by the V3's volume knob.
  4. Connect Power: Connect the provided power supply to the "DC24-48V" input on the rear panel. Then, plug the power supply into a wall outlet.

3. Operation

3.1 Powering On and Volume Control

To power on the amplifier, rotate the volume knob clockwise. The power indicator light on the front panel will illuminate. Continue rotating clockwise to increase volume, and counter-clockwise to decrease volume. To power off, rotate the knob fully counter-clockwise until it clicks.

3.2 Op-Amp Swapping (Advanced Users)

The Fosi Audio V3 allows for swapping of the stock NE5532 op-amps to customize the sound signature. It is compatible with various 8-pin dual op-amps such as Sparkos SS3602, MUSES02, OPA2604, OPA2134PA, OP249, AD827, RM4559, LM4562, LME49720HA, etc.

Important Note: When replacing the op-amp, ensure the chip is oriented correctly and the procedure is done accurately to prevent damage to the amplifier. Refer to the disassembly/reassembly video for visual guidance.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To maintain the appearance and performance of your amplifier, regularly wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

4.2 Heat Dissipation

The V3 features an innovative heat dissipation design with vents on the top and bottom, and a whole-body heatsink. Ensure these vents are not obstructed to allow for proper airflow and prevent overheating. Place the amplifier in a well-ventilated area.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Fosi Audio V3 amplifier, please refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Ensure the power supply is securely connected to both the amplifier and a working wall outlet. Check the power indicator light.
  • No Sound: Verify all audio cables are correctly connected to the "LINE IN" inputs and your speakers. Ensure the volume knob is turned up and the audio source is playing. Check speaker wire connections for proper polarity and secure fit.
  • Distorted Sound: Reduce the volume from both the amplifier and your audio source. Check for loose connections or damaged cables. Ensure speaker impedance matches the amplifier's capabilities.
  • Intermittent Sound: Check all cable connections for looseness. Ensure the amplifier is not overheating (check ventilation).

If the issue persists after following these steps, please contact Fosi Audio customer support for further assistance.
