4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your Khptop X7 headset into your helmet.

4.1 Choosing the Right Base

The X7 headset comes with two types of mounting bases:

• Adhesive Base: Suitable for helmets with thick brims or where a clip-on method is not feasible.
• Clip-on Base: Ideal for helmets with thin brims, offering a secure and easily removable attachment.

4.2 Speaker and Microphone Installation

1. Identify the speaker pockets inside your helmet. If your helmet does not have speaker pockets, you may need to create small indentations or use the included Velcro pads to secure the speakers.
2. Attach the round Velcro pads to the back of the headset speakers.
3. Carefully place the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets, ensuring they are positioned directly over your ears for optimal sound.
4. Choose either the soft microphone (for full-face helmets) or the hard microphone (for open-face or modular helmets).
5. Attach the chosen microphone to the appropriate location inside the helmet, ensuring it is close to your mouth for clear voice pickup but not obstructing your vision or comfort. Use the square Velcro pads if needed.
6. Route the speaker and microphone cables neatly within the helmet's padding to prevent tangling and ensure comfort.
7. Connect the speaker/microphone cable to the Type-C headphone plug on the X7 host unit.
