3.1 Front Panel

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your TP-7. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB-C port on the device and to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator on the device will show its status.

4.2 Initial Power On

To power on the TP-7, locate the power knob (often integrated with volume control) and turn it to the 'on' position. The display will illuminate, indicating the device is ready for use.

4.3 Connecting Peripherals

  • External Microphones/Headsets: Use the 3.5mm two-way jacks to connect external audio input devices. The TP-7 automatically detects the connection type.
  • USB-C Audio Interface: Connect the TP-7 to a computer via USB-C to use it as an audio interface for recording or playback.
  • Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth on the TP-7 and your desired device (e.g., smartphone) to pair for wireless audio transfer or control. Refer to the on-screen menu for Bluetooth pairing instructions.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Recording Audio

  • Standard Recording: Press the Record button to start recording. Press Stop to end the recording.
  • Memo Mode: For quick recordings, press the Memo button. This instantly starts recording using the internal microphone, even if the device is off. Press Memo again to stop.
  • Pausing Recording: During recording, gently place a finger on the motorized tape reel to pause. Remove your finger to resume.
  • Input Selection: The TP-7 automatically detects inputs. Ensure your external microphone or source is properly connected to one of the 3.5mm jacks.

5.2 Playback

  • Playing Recordings: Navigate to your desired recording using the motorized tape reel or navigation buttons, then press the Play button.
  • Adjusting Volume: Use the dedicated volume knob or menu settings to adjust playback volume.
  • Scrubbing Audio: Use the rocker on the left side to quickly scrub forward or backward through your audio files. The motorized tape reel also provides visual feedback during scrubbing.

5.3 Transcription App

The TP-7 offers a companion transcription app for iOS devices. Connect your TP-7 via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or USB to your iOS device. Use the app to import your audio recordings for instant and accurate voice-to-text transcription.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
  • Keep ports free of dust and debris.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the TP-7 in its hardcase box when not in use to protect it from physical damage.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity.
